What are the odds of Smenkhare being the child of Tadukhipa and Amenhotep III. It makes much more sense that this could be a possibility than him being a child of Tiye and Amenhotep III and here's why it would be as flaw.
He was around 19 to 21 years old when he died this means he was born within the same time frame that Tadukhipa Arrived in Egypt I believe Y38 of Amenhotep III. thus around the time that Beketaten was born because she was three years oolder than Meritaten which Smenkhare was which there you have you're error. Smenkhare couldnt have been born to Tiye because Beketaten would've been born that same year.
I think the reason Smenkhare spent most of his time in the background or Harem because at the time he was a lesser royal. A minor child to Thutmosis, Sitamun, Iset, Nebetnehat, Hennutaneb, Amenhotep IV, Nebetah, Beketamun and thier sixnieces and nephew pacifically the children of true royal blood.
This is just speculation not accounts of my former life.
I think I get it now I think I get why Smenkhare was killed I think it was do to Nefertiti. Yes the queen did go before Smenkhare but I think the reasons why he was killed off is because he was the son of her rival Kiya thus not of the family blood perhaps they did not want the throne to be passed down to the son of a killer and I think I know the priest who May have engineered his death Ay.

Re: Smenkhare
If Smenkhare was born in year 38 of A3 he would have died at about age 10. A4's reign started around year 30 of A3 and he lasted about 17 years.
So this sounds a non-starter to me.
