Pope Francis.

Luxor has both Christian and Moslem communities and the politics of the Middle East are equally diverse. Air your views on the situation.

Pope Francis.

Post by Scottishtourist »

I watched his speech on television.
How on earth can anyone say that this is not a "fine, noble"man?

This forum sickens me at times!
There is a big difference between "believing"in a faith,"practicing"a faith...and reading about it!

Many of you are very well educated! You read books..talk a "good game."
But..do you actually "practice"any kind of religion?

Or is your knowledge of it (from books and research)merely an instrument to discourage those who actually "practice"it?

Will read any replies later.Off to Mass now!

As the spiritual leader of millions, Pope Francis certainly seems a better man for the role than any of his predecessors I can think of.

He seems to me a thoroughly decent human being, even if I disagree with some of the dogma which still attaches to the RC church.

Why would we practice something that we do not believe in? Off to watch the rugby now. :-)

I think Pope Francis is brilliant. :up I do think there's a lot more positive things to come from that man in the non too distant future.

I have been to the Vatican, it's OK, seems to have some of the Armana influence in some of the patterns and carvings..
Clever how they laid out all those columns..

DO I practice any religion ?

Non that you have heard of.. :br

Although I grow tired of watching the saturated news coverage of his roaming's I do consider this one a super cool model, not wired up like his predecessors to give out falsehoods, a little like the currant models of the VW's do.

I really like this one. His humility and distaste for all the pomp and finery is wonderful to see. He is the first one I can remember in my lifetime who really does seem to care. The fact he did a runner the day after he was elected to go and have his dinner with a local priest in a poor area of rome rather than a banquet, his refusal this week to eat with the governers and chose to eat with the homeless, he total disregard for his own safety in order to stop and meet the locals.... and touring the USA in a fiat 500. What a bloke.

to quote himself this week.... "It is not necessary to believe in God to be a good person. In a way, the traditional notion of God is outdated. One can be spiritual but not religious. It is not necessary to go to church and give money - for many, nature can be a church. Some of the best people in history did not believe in God, while some of the worst deeds were done in His name."

So, besides being a "fine noble, brilliant, amazing, ever-so humble and thoughtful man,
Just actually WHAT has The Vicar of Christ done since his inauguration 2 years ago, for the benefit of Humankind ?

There is the last 2 lines of Robbo's post to refer to for starters... :br

The Catholic Church with Pope Francis at the helm "could" be Like life.

The best way to break down the physical barriers barriers is from the inside.

There is no such thing as Evil people, just evil minds....

Pope Francis Quote:
Each of us has a vision of good and of evil.
We have to encourage people to move towards what they think is good...
Everyone has his own idea of good and evil and must choose to follow the good and fight evil as he conceives them.
That would be enough to make the world a better place.

I am Evil in the eyes of many people,
But I am infact one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet... :D

and humble too...
