Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
The paradox is soon resolved when you recognise that no person on earth is entirely innocent so Q. 5.32 is redundant.

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
9/11, they were identified by plane passenger records and building entry swipe card records, the rescuers killed would be easily identified, by their service records, finger prints, blood groups etc, all these things are recorded when you join the these services and which are things that apply in modern countries. I remember one certain man saying on the news that his son was not on the plane that flew into the towers, but still wonder if he has seen his son since?
This attack is being done by shear investigations, OK, one passport has been found, the holder of which the police have arrested the family of. I imagine the car with Belgium number plates was traced back to the owners address. Another car was found with ammunition on board, suspicious??? again the owner and families have been arrested. Again the number plate would lead police to the owner, at the click of a mouse. Finger prints on the weapons they used, another method. There are so many ways besides passports, in modern technology, even DNA which was still in it's infancy but effective.

effective ? I think not, so who did kill Kennedy ?....

Ps: Somehow I think "If was was so hyped up to go our randomly kill people then knowing! I was going to self-immolate and meet my maker,
I really don't think I would remember to pack my passport, unless of course they 'magically find 6 more..

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
I don't see why people find it so hard to believe that the attackers would have carried some form of identification. They still had to get from point A to point B (the place of attack). If they had been stopped or asked for id along the way, it would have made them less conspicuous to behave like a normal person and have their id or passport ready to show. Carrying your passport or id alone would not make you look like you were up to something, but not carrying it would.
And a suicide vest may not be designed to cause you to burst into flames, just break up into pieces, so if no flames were involved, it is perfectly possible an id or a passport would have survived.
There was a video from a year or two ago of some guy trying to defuse a bomb in Cairo and not succeeding. Real bombs don't necessarily look like they might in Hollywood films with a ball of fire. In this video, he was there fiddling with the bomb and then he was a pile of clothes on the ground. That was it. You didn't see anything in between. It was as if he just vanished into thin air.

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
I get your point, similar to flying a jet into a multi story building in the middle of a city, the building then collapsing to the ground and miraculously a passport is found, quite quite stunning...
Ps: Do you carry your passport wherever you go ? I certainly don't.
'methinks you watch that yankee trash TV called QI.

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
News reports tonight state that French forces have unleashed air strikes in Syria.
Visited my old dad today.88 years old and remembers WW2.
He's quite adamant.France will retaliate.
They're a proud nation,they had a hugh resistance movement during WW2.
Islamic state will feel their full force.
So sayeth an old man...not a liberal...just a realist!

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
This is actually a very true opinion.echoed by many in the Western world.Who2 wrote:This from a well known Egyptian born author...
I AM SO TOTALLY UP-TO-HERE WITH HEARING ABOUT "ISLAM"!!!
Islam, Christianity, Judaism, in fact ALL RELIGIONS should be eradicated as far as I am concerned. They have been the cause of countless genocides, tortures, wars supressions and pervesions over the last three millennia.
The recent revival of "fundamentalist Islam" --the political root of which goes back to the medieval crusades and, in modern times, the fatally flawed creation of the State of Israel in 1948-- has now gone FAR TOO FAR. It must be stopped. It is time to call a spade a spade and to stop pussyfooting with political correctness or worried about being accused of "Islamophobia" or, worse, fearing a fatwa. A religious movement that wants women to be veiled from head to toe, that condemns and persecute gays, that kills people for drawing satirical and political cartoons, that shrieks "prayer" five times a day on loudspeakers etc. etc. has no place in the 21st century, let alone in Western liberal democracies.
My advice to "moderate Muslims" is to get into gear and start removing all fundamentalist and all fanatical factions from their midst, and stop letting the Christian West do their dirty job for them. Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, Iran, Egypt and Pakistan --which are military powers in their own rights-- should get off their arses and start cleaning up the "radicalism and fundamentalism" mess that they allowed to develop in the name of "Islam". Contrary to all the conspiracy theories being flaunted on Facebook and elsewhere, this is NOT a mess caused by the greedy "West". It is an Islamic mess, and it is Muslims themselves that must clean it up.
Enough's enough.
In my post in hospital I worked with a wonderful Pakistani nurse.Scottish born and bred..but her parents were immigrants.
She would discuss her religion quite freely.Islam...she was Muslim, but had a Scottish husband.
Her opinion on many things was TPA..typical "Paki"affair!!!
She loves Scotland and the Scottish people. She has no intention of going back to her homeland and being repressed.

I have no idea what QI is. And no, I don't carry my passport everywhere, I carry my Egyptian id card, as that is what the law requires me to carry.

Its a good job they were not wearing S. Vests made and developed by "Brodie". Europe's biggest problem is it's open borders, these now I suppose will be under scrutiny.

Re: Terror Attacks in Paris
My question to the UK government concerns me. As you are cutting back the Police force so dramatically how the hell are you going to protect the public especially as the UK is on an amber warning (one down red the maximum). Or is it going to take an incident for anything to happen?
