I have now carefully read through your initial post above, and am a little amazed that one comment in the write-up refers to Sir John Soane's house and another to Charles Dickens. Strange it may sound, but both these persons were linked, and a number of the great authors works that are set around Lincoln's inn Fields, even the old Bleeding Heart, as you have recently written mentioned on this site, was known and written about by the great man. As for either of these gentlemen being in the slightest association with modern day Malphoquet House, I assure you, they would have been most offended. Shows how little either of them know.
Travelling back to London next week, if I get delayed (re Southern Rail strike), I shall write up further on Soanes v Dickens.
