Like every year, I have of course booked tickets for the greatest concerts at Copenhagen Jazz Festival as soon as they were released, getting the best seats for shows that were sold out before the whole festival programme was ready. When it was announced that the great guitarist Stanley Jordan was coming, I hesitated because I had already spent a lot.
Back in Copenhagen, I bought an elegant dress for the Gregory Porter concert this week. It is not the kind of dress that I would feel comfortable wearing in conservative Luxor. I had hoped to get it at the summer sale, something I can keep for years, and I regretted not buying it in blue as well. I also regretted not getting a ticket for the Stanley Jordan concert. I cancelled some other plans that would cost the price of the dress and a ticket and decided to buy myself both. Then a young gentleman called and invited me to the concert! He had free tickets and we share the same taste in music and many other things. I hope that they still have the blue dress in my size because now I am going shopping.
Hopefully tomorrow, I shall show arms, I shall show legs and I shall show off with this young gentleman. Copenhagen Jazz Festival is one of those times of year, when I always ask myself why on Earth I have chosen to live in a country, where men his age are already married ...
You do not necessarily have to tolerate jazz in order to enjoy some of the music by this phenomenal guitarist. I am sure that some of you will appreciate it, if you don't already know Stanley Jordan:

Re: Stanley Jordan
I am no jazz fan Bennu as you know from past posts but I enjoyed that, I hope you have a wonderful time at your concert, IN YOUR NEW DRESS, try to get your young man to take a picture and share.

Re: Stanley Jordan
I hadn't heard of Stanley Jordan but really enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing
I hope you have a wonderful evening.
Being in Crete at the moment I know exactly what you mean about showing arms & legs. I find the Greek attitude so much more relaxed

Great concert, standing ovation.
If there is a pause in the rain one of these days, I'll go and see if they still have that dress in pink, my size. I didn't wear the blue last night, won't wear the black one tonight, I am going nowhere with bare legs in this weather.

This week, there are 1300 jazz concerts in my city and I have 1300 dresses. I'll find a longer one - and another excuse to wear my new dresses this summer.
