Referendums are only advisory Parliament alone runs the country as the Judges just ruled what is normal is some limits are set into referendums this one had none.

I don't for one minute think the EU is all sing all dancing but if you are going to leave you should know what you are going to get in return.
There should have always been two votes one to start the process one to approve the finality of it.

The whole thing was a shambles because no one thought the leave vote would win.

I think you will find that the EU has protected socialist measures from governments overriding them in the interest of self interest for companies.

I didn't catch who made the statement on the news this evening, but he stated that it was going to cost Britain an absolute fortune to leave.

Junkers EU President.
We will still be expected to pay for all the things we voted the EU to do while a member was one of them.

If I leave my local Tennis club I do not have to pay for the Christmas party and the coach to get there even though I voted to have one when I was a member last Christmas. Junkers is always mouthing off about something and issuing veiled threats, if we don't get a deal and decide to walk away from it all what exactly is he going to do?Teresa May is in a strong position, we can still contribute, but on our terms and most people will accept that, but if Junkers thinks he is in some way capable of just listing his various bills and they will be paid while screwing us on everything else then he may be in for a surprise.

The arguments over the alimony for this divorce could last for years.

If anyone's interested in the nitty gritty......

It is rather strange, but most people believe that President Trump is the original odd-ball, but actually this is not so, you might remember the name Alexis Tsipras, he's the chap that runs Greece. For those who follow the news items with regards those regular EU meetings of Prime Ministers, the B.B.C. usually follow the British prime minister shaking hands and smiling with her opposite numbers. The Greek television service obviously follow the antics of their leader,......Mr Alexis Tsipras.

When he meets each of his opposite number be they French, Spanish, Italian or what ever, he approaches them each with a hard punch on their shoulder, with a 'Hi you mate' address. Their expressions speak volumes. The best one however, he reserves for Frau Blutcher,.......sorry Chancellor Merkel, he simply wraps his hand around her. Her expression is priceless, as seen by the Greek people via their television news, and a certain satirical T.V. program there. This man knows he can do what he likes, and pay the EU nothing, for they certainly will not be kicking his country out of the club this year.

Footnote. At the N.A.T.O. meeting this past week end in Germany, Donald Trump sent a message to those who do not pay their 2% wack (inc Germany who pay half what they should) via his deputy,............."if you have no plan, get one". That message was made very clear, and most unusually public,.......no more diplomatic Mr nice guy.

I still wonder who was first Trump or Tsipras. :wi . :wi . :wi .

What I dislike about the remoaners is that they keep telling me that I was mis-lead or that I'm a racist - neither are true - I knew exactly why I voted to leave and hopefully it'll work out. In an ideal world voting to leave will see the utter economic destruction of england, with Scotland, Wales and Ireland forming a union of support and remaining within the EU.

Yes but if we didn't have dreams then nothing would ever change.

A lot of the small Countries will want to continue in the EU, it gives them a "Cost a fortune" bit of security, and they can trade freely. I think Junkers finishes next year anyway, so he will like US Presidents be wanting to leave his legacy, so watch out UK. On saying that Marine Le Penn will come to the rescue. Maybe!

Well spotted Bennu, though I guess you should know... :up

Greenland, I meant... Greenland. :P It was back in the very late 70's.
Greenland were dragged in BY Denmark, but once they gained independence from Denmark, they cited that it was unconstitutional for them to be in the EU because Denmark dragged them in.
They voted to leave, and they did, ( sort of ) BUT they still have certain "arrangements" with the EU.

Ya cheeky bugger Horus !

If the English didn't keep nicking bits of Wales, you will find that our country was and should be much bigger than it is today...

The clues are in the name: here is one for example..
North Yorkshire 3 peaks, one of which is Pen-y-ghent, it means Hill on the border. In Welsh...
Most of Shrewsbury was Wales, and a lot of the Midlands...

Anyway, where would Liverpool and Birmingham be without OUR water... ?

That was in 1985. Greenland does benefit from EU, but is no longer a member of the union. So, you can check out anytime you want - and you can leave.
