I know non of you think I have got no heart but this is the real me...........


Today is a very sad day because of our move and the amount of travelling we will be doing we are going to have to put our loving Jack to sleep.We have made a tomb, purchased a pet coffin and we are going to encase him in solid concrete for his eternal rest until we meet him again when we cross the rainbow bridge, pick him up whilst crossing and lead him with us to be a family once again in paradise.

His coffin is carved out with the words

Here lays Jacky bold and strong
But forever loving all day long
Now he's at eternal rest
Angels guarding the very best
One day we will all meet again
This thought will take away the pain
Until that day in peace you sleep
You will never see the tears we weep
We will always love you Jacky, Mummy and Daddy

If the dog does meet its erstwhile owners in the afterlife, and could communicate its thoughts, I wonder how it would feel about its life being prematurely terminated because its caring owners couldn't face the prospect of it being handed to an Egyptian family.

They are not all sadistic animal abusers. The dog deserved a chance.

In MT's judgement, the dog is better off dead than in the hands of anyone else. Frankly - and having read MT's posts on a variety of matters over the years - I wouldn't trust his judgement on anything!

I dare say MT's dog had served its purpose in his eyes.

Not too sure what the Dog felt about that, but still, I am sure your rationale will be taken into consideration at the pearly gates...

I have got to say it...of all the things that irritate me about Major Thom's opening post I am struggling with the initial double negative. Unlike in physics, two negatives do not make a positive! Certainly not in this case.
