Re: Any info?
Can't wait for her 'tell it all living hellhole stories and her 5 minutes of fame.
Perhaps Ant or Deck will invite her into their jungle before her star fades....
Ps: A Dr says: "JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS! and drug mules....
Wonder if she will get her old shop job back now she has a criminal record ?
I wonder if she will have to undergo counselling ? PTSD....?
She needs a Lawyer.....

I suppose we shouldn't be surprised at the Daily Mail's ignorance of the law.crewmeal wrote:Now the Daily Mail says she IS pardoned. Believe it when it happens I say.

Re: Any info?
Like those two drug mules who were holed up in some South American jail, they're now living off the riches of a newspaper from selling their story. I wonder who will buy this mule's story.
Don't bother with answers on a postcard.

Re: Any info?
It would serve her right if, on return to the UK, she was prosecuted and convicted for illegal possession of a Class C substance.crewmeal wrote:Like those two drug mules who were holed up in some South American jail, they're now living off the riches of a newspaper from selling their story. This carries a potential penalty of 2 years' imprisonment and an unlimited fine....which could be set at whatever her miserable story is likely to earn.
Now that would be poetic justice!

So... Did he, or didn't he? Is she, or isn't she?
I've watched the lunchtime and tea time news but either I blinked at the same moment during both of them and missed this bit, or else it hasn't hit the TV news here yet!
Am I bovvered? Nah! Not really. I can always watch paint dry if I want something more interesting to do! ;-)

Re: Any info?
Brit drug smuggler Laura Plummer pardoned but will NOT be freed from Egyptian prison today.
Agonising wait of shop worker, 33, jailed for bringing Tramadol into the African country will continue, reportedly due to red tape
Her family waited outside the prison in a minvan hoping to be reunited but were left disappointed.
The Daily Mail reports the delay was due to the paperwork approving her release did not arrive at the jail in time.
The deadline for people being freed today has now passed.

Laura Plummer 33 'Who'd have thought it ?
Parents say : "We won’t let her go back out there anyway, we’ll take her passport off her - she’s grounded until we all get over this ordeal."
Nice bit of parental control......

Re: Any info?
Convicted Brit drugs smuggler Laura Plummer spending another night behind bars in Egypt as confusion reigns over possible release.
Her devastated family have flown to Egypt believing they would have been able to bring her home yesterday.
But it is now “completely unclear” if she will be freed in next few days.
One Egyptian lawyer said: “Those who said last week she would be freed within two days were completely wrong and gave the family false hope.
"That was never going to happen," he continued. “It is still unclear what her situation is. But it is not impossible she could be free soon."
Shop worker Plummer, had thought she would have been allowed to leave the brutal al Qanatar jail but her lawyer Mohammed Osman claimed the correct paperwork had not been completed.
He did not visit her today.

The family should stop believing all they read in the papers they are selling their story to.

SLAP IN THE FEZ New agony for pill Brit Laura Plummer as Egypt’s ruler withdraws her pardon and leaves family feeling ‘double-crossed’.
Laura has not yet been told the devastating news.
JAILED Brit Laura Plummer’s family said they have been “double-crossed” after Egypt’s ruler yesterday cruelly withdrew her pardon.
Laura, 33, caged for carrying banned painkillers, was told she would be freed after her name appeared on a presidential pardon list.
But the British Embassy in Cairo yesterday informed her mum Roberta, 63, there had been a “mistake”.
Laura, who compared herself to Bridget Jones at the weekend, faces a further six months before an appeal can be heard.
She has not yet been told the news. Last night Roberta told The Sun: “How can they do this to her? It’s so cruel. We’ve been double-crossed.”
The Sun accompanied Roberta and Laura’s sister, Jayne Synclair, 40, into the notorious Al Qanater prison in Cairo for a 90-minute visit on Sunday.
