I've never seen that sketch before. I might just have to share it. Thanks.

Sounds like someone has lived a cloistered life....

Re: When 1970's comedy becomes reality: The Trans debate
Well, being a country kid living a rather sheletered and more natural life, I have to admit that I did only think there were 2 genders, which physically there are as defined by the function of the genitals.
Hermaphrodite's are a different kettle of fish.
What goes on the the mind of people is again yet another kettle of fish.
Still, with todays technolgy and medical advances, you can be anything you want to be or think you should be..
each to their own I guess..
.
.
My dear old Uncle said to me just before he died that he was living in a world he no longer understood.
I said its just as well we are not immortal, what a punishment that would be..
Imagine living in ancient biblical times when they lived to 1000 years old he said.
Ah, that was Lunar years, not solar, so their lifespan was just the same as ours when you divide it by 13..

What are you rambling about now ??
A lunar year is about 354 days.

Re: When 1970's comedy becomes reality: The Trans debate
Lets be specific once again.. A lunar cycle was classed as a lunar year in the old days.. there are 13 lunar cycles in a solar year.
A SOLAR year is 364 days or therabouts... A Lunar year is just the year in which the 13 lunar cycles takes place.
you see many ancinet cultures used the moon to count time, probably beofre they realised that the Sun had a cycle too.
We still have a remnant of that in the name fortnight, meaning 14 nights.
Noah was 950 when he died, which is highly unlikey and science would certainly argue that fact, but if you divide 950 by 13, ( 13 being the number of Lunar cycles in a solar year ) you get 73 which is a much more plausible age for a human to die.

If you divide 950 by 12 ( 12 being the Number of legs on a spider plus the number of wings on a butterfly) you get about 80, a reasonable human age span.
Of course there is absolutely no logic in this statement.....nor in yours
Better stick to chemistry or Egyptology.

Now you are just talking ******** after I gave you a perfectly rational and reasonable explanation of how it was these prediluvian people lived for so long.
I would Probably reccomend that you find a shady spot and stay out of the Sun for a few days....

Produce some “evidence” (look the word up....it might help you rationalise) that people long ago (antediluvian or otherwise) ever used lunar cycles to measure human age ....and then come back to me.
Or continue imbibing mind-altering substances....
P.S. It’s better not to take the bible too literally. It leads to all sorts of confusion

Not if one considers it takes an average of 9 months to be born.
12 months is the planetary cycle not a human cycle....which I think makes me about 89.
Mind you I'm crap at maths, oh! and days of the week lol...

Well it's hardly rocket science, if it takes you 9 months to be born you are 9 months old every 9 months.
On the other hand 365 days for the planet makes it one year.
Lets try Cats shall we: A popular misconception is that cats age seven years for each calendar year. In fact, feline aging is much more rapid during the first two years of life. A cat reaches the approximate human age of 15 during his first year, then 24 at age 2. Each year thereafter, a cat ages approximately four cat years for every calendar year. Thus, a cat who is 5 in cat years would be approximately 36 in human years. Does that make any more sense ?
One doubts it...but never mind 'ignorance is bliss so someone said....

My cat was 21 years old when she was put to sleep, so that made her 151 years old then, hope I get that long.

Or 1963 years old by JL’s antediluvian reckoning.
Even more impressive!!
