So you will be putting in a bid for that then?

On the chicken front, they will certainly scoff up the ticks and other beasties, but here’s a tip for you, chickens also get mites. They are tiny little things and hard to spot, to prevent them a cheap and effective method is to gather up any ash from a wood fire and dust them down with it, hold them upside down by their feet and dust away. The ash will literally explode the mites on contact. However it is very important to only use the ash from a pure wood fire that has had no pollutants in it as that sort of ash could burn the chickens skin. Trust me, I'm a Pheasant Plucker 8)

Well I have a wood fire, but won't be lighting it until Winter.

On a lighter note two days ago a landowner wanted to connect his hose to my outdoor tap.
No problem, but I wondered why as I couldn't figure out his reason.
Awoke this morning 5am to spot this newly built 'old mud house. They had worked through the night to build it.
Quite well hidden eh ?

I said 'nice, He said 'it's for the cows. Yeh! right papier-mache cows.

Now we wait for it to dry so they can make it look even older.

Nb: One cannot build a new house on agricultural land, unless an old house once stood there.
Cows ? Think I was born yesterday....

Day 3, It's a bit like the Hatton Garden job they worked through the night.
Hovel nos 2, the art is to make them look old.

Point is many people don't like the guy, he's from Bairat.
So will probably get reported, sooner or later... 8)

When using the rubbish skip this morning I noticed that the 'cow-shed has been connected to the mains.
So they must have an old electric meter installed (proof of ownership)
They have painted them in old colored paint as most artists round here are good a recreating (forging) antiques.
Even planting some new trees, but I doubt that they will have time to grow.

But! they have used fired bricks that were not used in those days just mud brick.
They must think the government are stupid. tbc... 8)

Done the Saturday morning shopping, got a nice pair of diamante 'ship-ships for Aida 40le.
We always pop into ACE charity shop on saturday's.
And a couple of very chilled stella's on Sunset, that floating restaurant & bar opposite the meat factory Etap.
very pleasant no cruisers blowing out diesel and a nice cool breeze off the Nile,
we get a special discount, else it's 70 odd for a stella.
Plus, our motor boatman picks up from their landing stage, our motor boat is named Sunrise, weird....

Anyhow, village Omda just popped round plus a couple of mates all talking about land values,
our 'new antiki house & the bit of my house I want to buy...

Anyhow, I questioned a statement, "He eat's my Mother" sounds like "kaloo Omi"
Took me a bit of time explaining 'that sounds like an old saying, and it is, I'll let you guess it's meaning.... 8)
'answers on a post--------card....
Ps: The ' old old house is looking a lot older, antique shutters, palm leaves ect.
My mates understood about GPS and global satellites,
they reckon that they (Police) will wait until he spends all his money, then ....'knock it down!
Oh! and they even charge you when they demolish it as well as a fine...

The 'antika house has become quite a talking point, everybody and their grandmothers' stop and give
a bit of advice on how to make it look older.

My suggestion was 'Say your building it as a film set,
I mean,. we had that 'ginger-bird all dressed in black, down our street only last year.... 8)
her with her black brolly all very 'overweight Mary Poppins. imho..
1 good point though, 'she did give the 'Prat in the Hat the cold shoulder or was it elbow, anyhow he 'should've gone to specsavers....imho...

Sunday:.... "And on the fourth day they lay down their adse and rested.
So it seems complete although I haven't seen inside yet, even kids playing on a swing.
The main 'antika house has also now got electricity.

So, take one great pyramid 10,000 happy toilers and 20 years compared to, 2 x hovels 6 guys taking 4 days..
Pyramids ? easy peasy! Life span pyramid = 7000-12000 years: Life span 'antika house = 7-12 weeks imho...8)

Ps: 'my opinion is never honest! honest... have the 'archers finished yet ? can't stand them Stan loved them...

Are they on the strip of land that was disputed? There are many like them on the inner road up past Atta's towards Wolf restaurant.

Well Nigel Pargetter died when he fell off a roof some time back, but that is as much as I know. :tk
Did you know that a Pargetter was really an upmarket plasterer, often doing that fancy moulded stuff above a cottage door, so what he was doing on the roof is a mystery, :?: maybe your 'antika' dwelling could be interested in a bit of pargetting. :up

They build them to look old to try to con the government,
So they can then knock them down & build a new house and sell it to some prat expat.

The gov have been aware of this for many many years and not only Luxor but all over Egypt's
agricultural land.

We have one relatively new house here to my left, but that was a proper old derelict with electric meter.
I noticed this once, when the family's mother rushed into the blazing building only to exit clutching,...
the meter board!

I discovered the importance of having electric & water meters in one's name then....
The point is not to take these things personel,
Ps: A Dr's advice: "be like an egyptian rather than an exprat 'else you will expeditiously die of worry!.... 8)
