UK Health Minister out of touch with reality

Post by crewmeal »

I was surprised at the Matt Hancock's comments regarding taking a Covid test before travelling to other countries. Does he not realise if you have to have a negative test result before arriving into certain areas such as Cyprus and Egypt to name but two. Then has the audicity to bemoan about too many folk without symptons taking the test, then in the next sentence wants thousands more to actually take the test.

As I'm back teaching at college (for now) I will continue to take a test every week considering most of my students fall into the BAME catagory.

What a d**k

Presumably he’s talking about NHS tests. Why are they accepting people with no symptoms? I thought that was a prerequisite unless you’re a key worker etc. Needing one for holiday purposes is against the rules.

There are many private clinics offering tests - albeit at around £150 - and they presumably use private laboratories. In any case, I doubt the volume is such as to impact on the overall testing statistics.

Hancock’s announcement in the Commons of the “ Moonshot” program to test everyone was received with derision....rightly so. A brilliant way to waste £100 billion.
