Mohamed Salah has tested positive after - wait for it .... attending his brothers wedding in Cairo.
I actually thought he was one of the more intelligent footballers.
It could do some good - he is so high profile that ordinary Egyptians must now accept the reality of CV in Egypt.

I doubt it will do any good.....unless he falls ill, which is unlikely given he’s young and fit.hatusu wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 5:43 am Mohamed Salah has tested positive after - wait for it .... attending his brothers wedding in Cairo.

It’ll just reinforce the opinion of many Egyptians that the virus is nothing to worry about.
It might help if he now made a big show of having to isolate etc....to protect his elderly relatives.

But he will miss the qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations next week which will be a big blow. It might (?) make the young ones take it a bit more seriously......

They will be more annoyed at the ( in their view) pointless protocols which prevent MS from playing in a couple of African Cup qualifiers!hatusu wrote: Sat Nov 14, 2020 9:39 am But he will miss the qualifying match for the Africa Cup of Nations next week which will be a big blow. I think, generally speaking, Egyptians are aware of COVID-19, and how it is spread. It’s just that, with the low levels of infection and death reported, they don’t believe it’s a matter to be too concerned about....amongst all the issues Egypt has to deal with.
Unless, and until, there are huge numbers of reported deaths, hospitals unable to cope, etc etc ....they will live in denial.

Using the word "intelligence" and "footballers" in the same sentence ?

Don't look back. That's not the direction you are travelling towards.

Earning £ millions per annum for kicking a ball around for a couple of hours a week sounds pretty clever to me!John Landon wrote: Sun Nov 15, 2020 10:10 pm

Egypt would be a great place to test all these newly developing vaccines.
We all know, how Egyptians just love running to the Dr's for any small problem.
They would jump at the chance, so-long as no one starts spreading 'antivax rumours..
'Just a thought!.....
Ps: There are as many Dr's as there are lawyers or even taxi drivers...

They may get millions of doses....but, at the last count, they seemed short of needles ( going by their preference for sharing!)Who2 wrote: Mon Nov 16, 2020 1:59 pm Egypt would be a great place to test all these newly developing vaccines.
