I am sad to inform you that Shareen (Hazel) passed away last weekend.
Shareen was one of the earliest members of Luxor4U and, although she had not posted for a long time, I am sure is still remembered by many of us that still post or look in on the forums.
I first got to know her through L4U, and eventually we met in person. When ever I visited Luxor, we would meet for a chat, putting the world to rights, enjoying a drink or meal by the Nile, or relaxing in a sail on her boat Spirit of the Nile - when it wasn't booked with clients. After she moved back to England, we were able to meet up on occasion, although distance and work didn't make it easy. Thank goodness for the internet, and ease of communication, although sadly we didn't keep in contact as much as we promised each other, both busy with our real and not cyber worlds!
If you knew Shareen, you will no doubt have your own memories of her. I'm sure they are good ones.
Hepzi.

Update - Copied from Hazel's Facebook page:
'With heavy hearts, we share that Hazel passed away peacefully in her sleep last weekend after a brave battle with cancer.
She lived a beautiful life with no regrets—full of love, laughter, and following her dreams. Hazel cherished her family and friends deeply.
If you’d like details about her memorial service, please reach out to Lorraine Sutcliffe or Craig Brown .'
Another former active member of Luxor4U, and friend of Hazel's will be the celebrant at the memorial service. She has posted 'Hazel asked me to do her memorial service, so if anyone wants to message me with any personal messages or memories I can read out on the day. Thanks x'
Lisa Dundas Funeral Celebrant can be contacted through Facebook.

Re: Sad news.
I lightheartedly Christened her "Witch Hazel" because of her dabblings with alternative therapies. They say that a friend in need is a friend indeed, and Hazel surely was that to us in our hour of need, when we lived in Luxor. She proved to be a great support to my beloved when I ran into trouble a good few years ago. God bless her!

Teddyboy, if you haven't already done so yourself, may I pass your comment on to Lisa to add to her collection which may be shared at Hazel's memorial ceremony?Teddyboy wrote: Sat Aug 30, 2025 9:32 am I lightheartedly Christened her "Witch Hazel" because of her dabblings with alternative therapies.
