Missie had us laughing as well this morning, she said Tufty hadn't had "furs" before & she explained they came with different fillings. She then suggested we should put out some jam furs tonight, so she could show him! Jam are her favourite but she doesn't get them very often because of her teeth, devious little madam, BB said we could do marmite, I told her that & got Humphh (she hates marmite). Promised jam tonight, wonder whether Tufty will get a look in?
I'm not sure about the moon, Mum is feeling very contented & well at the moment, but that could just be that she is fully recovered & happy for Missie. Missie obviously is VERY happy having got Tufty.
Mum came down Monday night whilst Tufty was there, he was a little wary but stood his ground & carried on eating for a short time then left the table for Mum. She seemed pleased with his reaction.
She came down VERY early last night, 8p.m. to eat her dried fruit, we don't normally put it out until after 9.30 but just decided to yesterday, her "suggestion" I suppose! We are being programmed!!

Thank you Q.
We have just been standing in the conservatory & Missie came down to eat about 5 feet away. Kept looking in, she could see & hear us, (the camera has a sound pick up as well) & was really relaxed, even sat down! Tufty was with her & looked at us but couldn't handle it & left, went in to the new shelter. I did point out to her that the jam fur's were meant to be for him to try? Oh
I never did think he stood much chance of getting them. As you say Phantom, tightly wrapped round paws, very dainty paws though!

How sad am I? I've just been making a large batch of fried bread on special request from Mum. It has just started to snow and all the rabbits and mice are tucked in the holes so no live food available. She wanted filling fatty food to keep up their energy levels. She is worried that her cubs, although adult now, will not have experienced such cold weather and will not keep themselves warm enough.
It seems mothers of all species worry about their offspring.
FABLUX - Missy is snuggled in the den in our garden with Tufty and says he is keeping her warm...platonically she says (for now)
I've told her to tell Mum as she is worrying! OK.
Mum is surprised to still be worrying about Roley in particular, she thought once he left that would be it. I explained humans always worry about their cubs, yes but foxes don't! Maybe it is just because she is very special? Kinkie is away & she hopes he will come back tonight.
I said once she has more cubs she might worry less, she said hers died,
she probably won't have any more this winter
I said wait until hormones change, she might want to & she got quite graphic! Pornography fox style
DB has just come down, looking very thin. Eating well, no wonder she worries!
Have got some chicks in for them for tomorrow, to keep their energy up. Plus given them extra dog food etc tonight, as well as the fried bread BB made.
The evenings pass just feeding the animals these days

Thursday night Mum was very down, worrying about cubs, saying she missed Kinkie & wished he would come home. Friday morning I woke up to be told by Mum that Kinkie was back.
She was soooo pleased.
Saturday Missie joined us in the New Forest on our walk, very interested by the sights & smells, bought back samples for her by request so that she could show Tufty! Smelt fox at 1 point & was told it was male!
Caught up on some video, lovely clip of Mum, Tufty & Missie together. Tufty is very much a part of the family now.
Long discussion Friday night about whether we could keep 2 families of cubs fed, then they could play together!! Thought Mum wasn't having any? That was before Kinkie came back!
Said they should hold off until the weather warmed up, i.e. when we came back from Egypt, the cubs stood a better chance of survival, OK they'd try
I'm not convinced.
Barry says he could put some of the tape onto DVD & bring a laptop to the SW meet if anybody is interested?

As if there was time to get up to mischief with all the foxes and HH's to feed !!
I'm now going to relay a story from Fablux who was packing for a couple of days in Camarthan this morning. Missie popped into her head with "oh, are you going away to the hot place?"
Yes I'm going away but it not the hot place. It is cold like here but different country.
Missie: "can I come with you again?"
If you wish to....at which point she went away again.
Fablux and her mother drove to Wales and were having a lunch of steak sandwwiches. Missie pops in again "that meat looks good...will you save me some?"
Ok, I'll bring you back a piece.
A bit later, "you don't chew your food the way we do, your mouth goes up and down and side to side"
Thats how we eat.
" I don't, my mouth opens and closes when I eat and I bit up and down" The vision of Missie chomping away on rabbit and throwing the pieces to the back of her throat to swallow went down well with the sandwich!!
Sometimes the images communicated can be too graphic!

I finally got around to capturing some images from last weekends footage.
Mum has just arrived while Missie and Tufty were feeding and is greeted by Missie

Mum then moves over to the food and eats with Tufty

Mum is very contented right now. She has Kinkie back with her and Missie and Tufty are also living in a separate chamber of the same earth.
She knows Roley is fit and well and making a life for himself. DB just "is" but seems to be managing.

I spnet about 5 hours reviewing the master tapes so I could compile a short DVD of the best bits to bring to the SW meeting. Had to do it on the computer setup as our TV video has a head clog which I must fix tomorrow. I was told I had had my turn for the day. Ha, now she is in the bath I can get back on the forum.

Had my first contact with a male fox about a week ago.
I suddenly sensed somebody but wasn't sure who. Ruled out Mum & Missie but there was still "somebody" with a question. Vague but wanted to know what that food was on the table. (It was some slightly dry hot cross buns I'd bought that day, with jam put in the middle!) Explained like furs but crisper, Oh, nice? probably
Missie than said its Tufty
He can speak to you
She is really glowing at the moment & so pleased that he has been accepted by everyone. He is a very handsome fox I have to admit.
During the recent cold wet nights he has been down collecting food and taking it back to her
