I think that Sisi would win by a landslide if he were to stand this year. I hope that it does not come to this, but it might be best in the short term.

'the ONLY hope for Egypt is to free and reinstate Mohamed Morsi and have elections soon'
Thus states Jewel.
No one with the remotest iota of a notion of the complexity of the situation could possibly
suggest this.
Mubarak was persuaded to stand down.
If Morsi had made the same decision - or been allowed to by his MB masters - the country might not
have been in this sorry mess.
I think I understand why he didn't - loss of face and much more concerning his MB group - but if he
had really genuinely cared about Egypt this should have happened.

Oh Brian, you do state the bloody obvious, but then again, like the 'days of Sadat', there is no such thing as the short term, not just in Egypt, but most of the third world.

Sorry Remus but its quite simple really.....the people wanted "democracy", Mubarak was ousted, elections held. Morsy got the majority of votes, so was elected democratically, OK he wasn't popular ( which leader ever is?) the way to have proceeded was another election and allow the Egyptian people to vote, not call in the military and effectively bring about a coup d'état which is the situation. Result? Bloody chaos........
