It was Christmas Eve in the harem

The eunuchs all standing there,
A hundred dusky maidens,
Combing their pubic hair.
When along came Father Christmas,
Striding down the marble halls,
When he asked what they wanted for Christmas,
The eunuchs all answered, "Balls!"

The old ones are the best ones Newcastle! And this one is very old!
So is newcastle, its remembrance Monday.

Just to prove I do look at your posts here Frater, I too was often confused as to why there do not seem to be any tombs, for foreign ambassadors, royal dignortaries, usually held to 'educate them in the Egyptian manner'. Such people must over this long period have died in Luxor throughout the 18 - 20th Dynasty, though there seems to be little or no evidence of this. I often would have chats with Dr Don Ryan, an American who worked in the Kings Valley on what he called the lessor known tombs there. Very interesting chap, though he always told me he had never found burials for such people.

I think he's back in the States now, on his days off, he would go up into the hill, doing a little mountain climbing, though the new authorities here put a stop to it, and that really ****** him off, so is not seen so much these days in the Valley.

I'd imagine the bodies of foreign emissaries or "guests" (i.e. hostages!) would have been shipped home rather than interred in Egypt.

We only have about 1000 identified tombs in Thebes, spanning a long period from the 11th Dynasty onwards. Considering how many people must have died over a period of over a thousand years we have barely scratched the surface yet. There must be much more to discover!

In my case many of these people may have actually died elsewhere not everyone remained subjected to remaining in Egypt for the rest of thier lives. That's perhaps main reason why most of these people's remains can't be found.

I can tell you that majority of the Amarna Princesses aren't in the Valley of the King and Queens.

Countless hundreds of mummies and daddies were used to stoke the trains engines in days long gone so who knows who ended up as ashes on the wind.

Let's hope Frater's ancestors escaped that fate

I read a while ago the tomb of some old queen had been unearthed.

Not yet identified as to the husband, but it was a shaft burial in the Ramesseum a few days ago. Third Intermediate Period IIRC.

There are indeed a couple of old queens buried here. And from what I hear on the grapevine a third is in the offing. Or should that read outing? :)

Hey guys I was surfing on the internet doing some more research and studying on the KV21 mummies and I came across this site that had nearly all the mummies that were in the 2010 DNA analysis(minus the kv21 mummies) and there was this mummy labelled "I Amenhotep V"

The mummy was very young about the age of 10 years of death. it also had long eyelashes which made me believe that it was a young girl, but not just any young girl but Meketaten herself(if she was born in Year 4 of Akhenaten). HELP ME FIND THIS MUMMY PLEASE! I've been searching everywhere online for this mummy please help gather more information so I can some sort of idea as to whom she is.

this is the link of the site in which I found the mummy on. She was listed with many of the Amarna Mummies; KV55, KV35, Amenhotep II.

I assume you are referring to "I Amenhotep IV". The text suggests that it was in the basement of the Cairo Museum. I do not understand the reference to the first floor, but wonder whether it was transferred to the Mummy Room?

I graduated school Satfamoly. day it was such an awesome but scarey experience.

I had to lead over 103 students onto the stage.(No I'm not an honors student).

Just the day before I was just thinking about Gildukhipa and how she led 317 women into Egypt. I imagine how she must of felt with all that attention on her and there I was almost the center of attention. I really felt like I was the star of that day.

That day was very liberating because I felt as I broke A curse uphold on my family. I was the first male in my family to get a degree. I literally changed my family current history and o could'not have done it if it wasn't for God,my past life experience, my struggles, my enemies, and U guys.

Man the much love and support I got off here was so incredible u guys inspire me to climb higher so I'm going back in my bachelors and might go further to my masters. Thanks so much

Congrats Frater, I am sure your family must be very proud of you, did they attend? Good luck with your further studies if that's what you decide to do.
