I do have a couple of older phones that are still in perfect working order so.........I've always found it a convenient way for me to manage my phones and contacts.
And if you fall on hard times you can always set up in competition to Carphone Warehouse

I did try to offer them back to CPW but they just laughed and told me they were almost antiques. On the upside, using them in places like Egypt and Morocco, I don't get chatted up for my phones and any thief worth his salt would know he'd not make any money on them either.

Right, so what your saying is that synchronising to one's Gmail is not complicated, really surely you jest ?...
Ps: I left my sim card in my desk draw back in the shack,
'good, it's great here only 5 people have my new UK number ha!
Pss: Is Boris elagble for sick pay ?
You don't have a smart phone so sync to Gmail would not work for you. Hey ho, just have a cheap dumb phone for each country Sim (card) not her!

Good evening.
Thank you so much for the suggestions and help last week.
I'm pleased to say that I was finally able to transfer the contacts from my original SIM card to my phone.
I have had to wait until today for a new SIM card to be delivered so that I could/receive calls and texts, but that is now activated and appears to be working fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way this time.
This, of all times, is not the time to be without telephone contact. Much as I need a lot of time adapting to all that our phones and computers can do for us, I am so thankful that we have so many means of communication in these days of isolation.
