Totally agree with you Horus. I went out into the garden and all I could find was a big spider and just have to post it (sorry Kiya)

Strange that you posted that picture Brian (very nice by the way, lovely Macro :) ) but all day I have been trying to get a picture of a dirty great big beastie of a spider that has built a web on my ornamental 'Olde Worlde' garden pump. It just sits there in the middle of its web waiting to pounce, but every time I see it and nip off for my camera, the little git waits until I crouch down for a good shot, then he scarpers off up the spout of the pump!
Well little does he know that he is in for a rude awakening :) because that particular ornimental pump can be connected to my garden pond pump

Incy Wincy spider hiding up the spout!
Along came Horus and flushed the ******* out!

Lovely Lovely Photos! And Kiya you're startin' to photograph like me (into the hundreds of shots)!!! ;););) Everything I see now I want a photo of and then can only delete a 'couple' once I'm back! ;);)

I love the Fuchsia photo, that is awesome and the Thistle is beautiful. You have a real eye for getting the mini details of the flowers in and centered well. The gardens must have been wonderful too. Aberdeen is/was the home of my Grandfather on my father's side. He was a stone mason and worked on many of the buildings of that area. Never got there but have lived in Saltcoats where my mum's people are.

Love the BIG juicy spider too. He's a beaut. I'm developing a real yen to go and take photos of bugs too but they're typically pretty fast moving and hard for me to capture.

Was at a boot sale this morning and my 'score' of the day was a new modern Quanta Ray tripod for $4 BUT once I got home the top adaptor part is for a clip in type camera and doesn't fit mine! :(( So while my "YES" for the brand new light weight and fully functional trippod that does fit is a bit of a bummer NOW I'm thinking maybe the solution is to purchase a VIDEO camera that would work on it! ;) But how to justify in my pea brain buying a video cam (probably at the cost of hundreds) for a $4 tripod...........hmmmmmmm - am SURE I can convince myself I can't live without a video camera! ;)

Beautiful photos all!!

LLL try e-bay for tripod adaptor - depending on the size of the fitment on the tripod you might find something suitable ie if it's the same size as a flash hotshoe then you should be fine. Sorry if that means the video camera can no longer be justified.

Does it not have the quick release block that screws into the underside of your camera?

If it is the quick release type try this site for a replacement.

I did wonder if anyone would remember Brian the snail :)

Brian, I am old enough to remember gas lighting. :) :)

But you are no snail at Googling.............I did not find the page you found to help LLL. I DID find several illustrations of Quantaray tripods and none showed a quick release plate fitted. From your link it would appear that one buys as many as you need for whatever attachments you intend to use with the tripod.

Strange approach to me but you have probably solved LLL's problem as long as her tripod model is listed.

ah but I needed you to point me in the right direction in the first place.

PS what's gas lighting? :))

Nice shine on the wings - thought you would have put this on the facebook group. I've put one on - don't worry it's the snail but my avatar is a different spider.

BB I did put this 1 above with flower & wasp on the group in FB, it probably will be on among the 1st pages of the bug/insect group, there is so many uploaded now, makes me shudder just to look at them.

LLL I only took 2 of the wasp/flower the 1st wasn't close enough so had to get closer, if it didn't work......tough! I wasn't hanging around them too long :(
I did zoom in on this 1 & cropped it.
