What do you all think?

Post by little_angel_204 »

I was just wondering what you all think of clairvoyants and mediums, I myself, have a great respect to those who use it to help others. Let me know what you think, I know its really random, but I have been going to see a good friend of mine and his colleague once a week for a month or two now and find it amazing the way they can do it. Also, I have been reading one of Doris Stokes' book - Voices. Apparently she was one of the greatest mediums of all time

I do believe in it, but really wouldn't want to go to one myself as I'm sure it would make me change the future. Hope that makes sense, but I think knowing what is going to happen actually makes you make it happen - if you know what I mean.

:oops::?

Yea, i know what you mean, but to be honest. i dont really think it makes you change your future, they cant tell you what is going to happen in the future, sometimes they may just give you a glimpse into what is going to happen, maybe give you warnings and stuff. I think that there job is to help others, and help them to believe there is life after death. The 1st time i went to see these guys it actually changed my life, it just made me think x

anyway, its good to have honest opinions!

Most of the evidence points to their being extremely good observers of body language and other physical signs, combined with a great ability to 'fish' for information from the person visiting them, during their readings.

James Randi has demonstrated this many times, giving accurate readings without claiming clairvoyancy - in fact he has offered a prize to anyone who can prove that it actually exists.

I once did tarot readings for friends, who told me how accurate I was - I was using a standard textbook on the cards, and reading their 'traditional meaning'!

Then I just interpreted them according to the feedback I was getting from my 'victim'.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Like you Stan, I used to be really cynical when it came to clairvoyants - then I went to visit one who changed my opinion! It was about a month after my mother died - this clairvoyant told me things about my mother and late grandparents that no-one else could possibly have known :)
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure...

Something happend a few years ago, dont really want to go into it but i was always closed in, i went and he told me that i cant blame myself anymore, its not my fault and to show emotion when it was happening instead of holdin everything in (it went on longer than that but it was 2 years ago, i cant remember everything).
I walked out of there with tears of relief rolling down my face. Its changed my way of thinking about what had happend. I think it was after that happened, i started to see my nana.

hope that makes you see the reason i believe x

[face=Comic Sans MS]L_A - I'm not saying there are not people out there with special gifts, but there are also many more who claim to have gifts and make a lot of money through these claims.

From what you have written it is very much the sort of thing I and many would say in certain given situations, especially knowing a bit about the background or emotional state of the person. I make no claim to be clairvoyent but I am, or so I am led to believe, a good observer and listener with the ability to empathise. Many others have the same qualities too and can read into a situation and use it for good or bad, that does not make them clairvoyants either.

I am glad for you that on this occasion you found some peace and reassurance, but I hope you do not need to find it in such a way again.[/face]

We live in a universe not a world and we cannot explain the wonders of this amazing universe. I am sure that there are other senses which we have yet to develop fully, including clairvoyancy and telepathy amongst many others.
