To catch a snake, you set a trap,
A tasty rat our little mouse,
Offer it a little snack,
Out it comes, from its house.
Let it taste the air,
It comes your way,
Not protected by its lair,
You will have the day.
Find its hole, and it you plug,
With a flint or a stone.
Now we find out whose so smug,
It's in the open without a home!
The tasty morsel, it will eat,
It won't want any more.
All it wants is rest and sleep,
But it cant get in the door!
So, now you have the chance,
It's feeling like a wreck.
A forked prong, like a lance,
You squeeze around its neck!
Unable to move, to or fro,
It gets in deep despair,
A knife to its neck to bestow,
An injury it cannot repair.!
Its head now severed from its body,
Danger, it presents no more.
Let's celebrate, with a toddy,
It's dead and lifeless on the floor!
