Since the Amoun restaurant moved to the new bazaar, it's trade has really dropped off - prices have increased, and from what I've heard people who used to visit it no longer do so.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

last time we were there we went to Amouns and the quality was certainly lower - can't remember the price though

at least marking Amouns will show where the tourist bazaar is

another to add might be the Cocktail bar opposite the Etap - good place for a sit and watch the river traffic

Stan, those maps are very useful, especially for a newbie like myself. I've also just been having a browse round your website and have to say it's fantastic. You've obviously put an awful lot of work into it.

I think, as has been said earlier, that if we load too many images into this thread it will become unusable for those with slower connections.

I think I might ask Keefy if it is possible to create a new Album section specially for these location images. Then all we need to do is post an update text here as new images are uploaded. It will save waiting for this very top heavy thread to load each time.

What does everyone think of this suggestion?

Ooh, sorry if I missed that Barry! Being about the technical side of things it would have gone right over my head, as I am a techno-dunce! As someone with aforesaid slower connections (no snide remarks, you lot!), I therefore support your excellent suggestion to the utmost! Hope that would be possible.....when you have a few spare moments ( ) Keefy, please? I know you are busy with the new server situation, bless you :)

For my recent trip I used the maps provided by Luxortraveltips - not to scale but were easy to print and read.

You don't really need maps from sites anymore - Google Earth now provides an excellent street map - the roads and names are overlaid over the picture.
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

Feel free to download them to your PC.

WARNING:- They both are extremely large files, but I didn't want to cut the size down, as they would be less readable.

If there are any places that I haven't added, let me know, and I can add them, if I know where they are!

In future dsaxelby as I was resurrected at 5 this morning, send me a text if you are going to resurrect a five year old post then I wouldn't waste a mug of tea reading it. And, by resurrecting said post proves that you are beginning to join the Clan of the lost Luxor soles.
