Dragonfly Dream (poem)

He sees her
transparent wings.
The number is four-
they stretch back in time.
Like windows and mirrors
for her rainbow body.
She connects us to fire.
With her hundred eyes
fixed on him,
she nods lightly.

Mirry, are you aware of the work of Ivor Cutler? Some of your poems, like this one, remind me of his curious epigrams with their mixture of humour and - tension.

That sounds a bit like part of the formula for Haiku. I'll have to do a search for Ivor Cutler. Tim, do you have any of his work you could post for us please?

WILD HENS by Ivor Cutler
As the wild hens wheeled and swooped over him, he observed tranquilly the neat way God had screwed in their legs like spark-plugs, then they dived and bore him unresisting and full of curiosity to their great group nest on an aspen, and laid him over thousands of peeping chicks. Fair do's he thought, as their gelatinous beaks bit away his soft life.
