Crop circles explained....

Crop circles are often cited as being unnatural - done by aliens or something unknown. Here's a beautifully produced video of how one of the largest crop circles in the world was produced in one night by a team of Dutch crop circle makers - if anyone can explain the commentary by the very attractive presenter, I'd be grateful!

The second link links to the video - the story behind the video is at http://forgetomori.com/2010/skepticism/ ... lity-show/

The only issue is, that Crop circles do appear in places where those naughty dutch folk do not go.

I was very sceptical about crop circles in the past, but more recently I keep a more open mind.. ;)

There are without doubt, man made crop circles, and with a little investigation work, these can be proven to be man made. then there are others that cannot.

I once heard it said that when people stop believing in God; they'll believe in anything!

I wondered that Christine :) perhaps the straw is flattened by stamping on it and not by a plank and a piece of rope

My thoughts are that groups that produce the crop circles keep their techniques to themselves. A simple circular circle can be explained as a natural phenomenon but the highly complex fractals and other symbols are certainly made by humans. Nothing mysterious really, other than wondering why they bother to make them!

I have yet to see one that I could not replicate using a fixed point, a length of rope and a plank, every one can be reproduced on a drawing board with a set of dividers, its a no brainer really.
What does amaze me though is that some people actually believe that peolple from another world with all the technology that implies, travel light years to reach Earth in order to flatten a cornfield, I find that sort of mentality a mystery and not the crop circles. 8)

I suppose you have to consider that these circles have become more complex as time goes by.
Also, the full effect of the circles is only visible form the air.

dont forget there isnt much darkness in the summer and autumn, so you would have to be pretty quick and have plenty of well co-ordinated people to do this over night.

This is quite a good site that offers lots of possibilities at the end of the article..

Oh don't worry, these young farmers are quite well organised when it comes to making crop circles, I have seen them do it and of course, practice makes perfect so they say ;)

Totally agree, Horus - surely if aliens wanted to make contact, they would make themselves known to governments, rather than make crop circles, or abduct people in the mid-west!

 So its a possibility that the crop circles could be an aliens menu then :) as Z says you can only see them from the sky, so in conjunction with Stans mention of abduction, i reckon they read sommat like, "dont eat the folk from around here, we did that last month and they dont taste so good" ( sorry guys its the fruits of an over active imagination ) ;)
The more complex the circles the bigger the menu :P
