My ears are growing..........

Post by drwho »

I once met a miner who was about 106 years old, great brain could remember everything and had massive gnome like ears, now they say your ears and hair doesn't stop growing when your dead, I've met a lot of dead people but not long enough to watch their hair grow, but I have noticed my ears getting bigger recently, they sort of crept up on me, whilst trying to recognize the young geezer looking back at me reflected in my mirror. Anyhow any information, however irrelevant, regarding the growth of ears I would greatly appreciated, any charities that address then growth of the ear, 'the dumbo foundation or something 'elton johnish send me their web addresses I need counseling and funding to progress this line of enquiry...cheers.. 8)

Here's a possible answer = which you as the great doctor should know!

Because they are made from cartilage, and not bone. After 27 - 30 bones do not grow anymore, but cartilage does. And it is helped along by booze, cigarettes and drugs.
Peace.

P.S. Hair and nails do not grow after death. Old wife's tale. The skin shrinks and it appears as if. More of the nail and hair is visible.

From Yahoo Answers.

Or there could be another one - Pinocchio's nose grew when he told lies - maybe your ears grow when you hear them - especially from builders!
I might agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong!

People tend to shrink as they get older, maybe you started at the head! :P
