I apologize I don't know how to get the pictures in a better order. The last should be the first as it gives the best view of this Temple. I couldn't get far enough back to take a photo of the entire place cause it is HUGE.

This is one of the temples I visited in Trinidad. The devotees of this Temple pray to the God Hanuman whobasically exemplifies power and strength. Hanuman is one of the most popular Gods in Trinidad and the followers of this Temple are considered fundamentalists. I was allowed this trip to go inside as it was prior to Divali and I could honestly say I had fasted and not eaten meat in the past (minimum) 5 days AND being "OLD" I am past having a monthly visitor....soooooo I was allowed inside to see all the meurtis, alters and centers of worship. The inside was more phenomenal than the outside. No shoes allowed inside nor where there any chairs or places to sit. Hindu people believe that sitting on the ground brings them closer to God.

The meutri (statue) of Hanuman is 85' tall and is the largest statue of Hanuman outside India.

Thanks for that LLL....we have been waiting patiently. :)

Love all the colour but that, and the culture, is what makes India a favourite holiday destination for us. I did not know that there was such a large Hindu community in Trinidad.

Great pictures LLL, I always like the way they use pastel colours in their art, very easy on the eye. :)

Lovely photos LLL....it looks a lovely temple, what statues and art work, very colourful, I always think how amazing just how widespread Hinduism is, I've been to the temple/centre in Wales at Skanda vale (remember poor Shambo the cow they tried to save? in 2007 :( ) they even have an elephant.....it is multi faith as in taking the custom of the Hindu religion a multi-faith Temple was established making sure that people of all religions and denominations could worship here. Is it the same in Trinidad?
