The Competition is now open

Phantom has chosen the topic for the July 2011 photo Competition.

Cats

Uploading and Rating is open throughout the competition.

<i>Your username with be hidden during the competition (only Admin can see your username to prevent members uploading more than 1 photo)
Members will only know the Top 5 winners which will be revealed when they are moved into the Previous Photo Competition Winners album.

Have resized my pic but it won't let me upload it - says it's too big or corrupt!!

Any ideas??

Also are we allowed more than one entry? I remember discussions about it a while ago but can't remember what the result was

Hi A - try resizing it again - I usually find that I have forgotten to click 'apply' before clicking ok in the program I use.

As far as I know it is still one entry per person.

It has previously been agreed that collage, photo manipulation and editing is acceptable.

Only 8 entries so far.....need at least 2 more or the closure date will extend.

I think I preferred the old system of voting at the end of the month. It's just a thought but people may not always go back to vote for later entries.

Its a no win situation which ever way we do it sue, if we only vote at the end of the month then maybe some members are away then or forget to vote, if we do it the way we doing now some photos might get voted and later photos dont, I really dont know any other way to solve this situation, it seems that any solution will have its faults.

Lets just hope members are honest and keep going to look at the album, even if its only near the end of the month and rate all the photos.

At least with the current system you can wait until the end before voting - which is what I do as I like to see all the photos before deciding which one I like the most. I know some people don't do it this way and just take each picture on its own and just rate that one out of ten without comparing it to any other photo.

It was very close this month - thanks for the votes and well done everyone. Now for this month's topic - I've had 2 thoughts 1) anything begining with the letter A or 2) Your best picture - not previously entered.

Hmm Brian not sure about the beginning with the letter A, that could be everything.. A House, A Car, A Dog, unless you say the main thing is the photo begins with the letter A

Sorry I had meant to explain that the subject had to begin with an A , eg aardvark, ant, anubis, acrobats etc and that you can't just put an A in front like a cat etc.

It's been suggested that picking A could cause problems as some might take it to the extreme and say their picture of a dog fits as it is an animal, so I'll go with my second choice i.e. your best photo (not previously entered).

'Best picture' is a safe bet and open to all kinds of picture.

Very well done with the lion last month. I thought it had your name written all over it.

I have been to Kenya and several game parks in south Africa but never seen a bloody lion.

And well done to all you other pussy fanciers
