Work to begin on restoration of Khufu's second solar boat...

After being buried in the sand for 4,500 years, King Khufu’s second solar boat will soon be displayed next to its twin on Egypt's Giza Plateau. I think 'soon' is not the word I'd use!

I like to think of them as ' "ships".. Symbolically speaking .
with all the turmoil, I cant see the reconstruction happening any day soon, then there's the boat shed to build. .
I often wondered why they built a boat shaped "pit" and dump a broken boat in there... A square hole would have sufficed..
Or, was it ever a boat pit ? ? ?
