The censorship committee of the Cairo International Film festival has rejected three of the 60 films it has reviewed so far, the Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported on Wednesday.

The three films were denied permission to appear at the festival due to their themes of sex, homosexuality, adultery, and nudity.

At previous festivals, the censorship committee accepted films containing nudity and sex but only critics and journalists could watch them.

The 35th Cairo International Film Festival is set to take place later this year.

It must be awful for the censors to have to watch these terrible pornographic films and then ban them..

God bless them, it's a thankless task, but someone has to do it..

Why ban things that are on open display all over Egypt any place any time of the day? Or do they think that which they view on film is real and what happens in reality is make believe?
