In The Movies: What I have learned.

In the Movies, if a woman is alone and hears a noise, she will go and check it out in her most revealing underwear.

The Ventilation shafts of any building is the perfect hiding place:
No one will ever think of looking fro you in there and you can travel to ANY part of the building undetected.

The Chief of Police will almost always suspend his Star detective- Or, Give him 48 hours to finish the job.

A Man will show no pain while taking the most ferocious of beatings, but while wince when a woman tries to clean his wounds.

The Eiffel Tower can be seen from Any window in Paris.

All Police investigations will find it necessary to visit a strip club at least once:

You are more than likeley going to survive any battle or or war UNLESS:
You make the fatal mistake of showing someone a picture of your girlfriend back at home.
and usually an heroic death await those who plan to marry said girlfriend as soon as they get home:

ALL Grocery bags in America contain at leat one stick of french bread.

Bombs always have a large digital display so you knwo exactly when they will go off. and ALWAYS a last second save:

Police partners who work together are always the EXACT Polar opposite of each other:

What have You noticed ??

As above plus:

Ventilation Shafts - they are always bright shining stainless steel. Everyone comes out looking clean and immaculate - even women in evening dress and high heels.

Characters who get a soaking e.g by falling in a river come out and their hair is usually dry and clothes, even heavy winter type wear, are always dry or just slightly damp.

Ship wrecks - there are always sufficient supplies of the essentials, including alcohol, washed ashore.

Well, Alcohol is lighter than Water, so I guess it's plausible..

Rampant Nookie in bed, and not a hair or makeup out of place in the morning,
And they have their bedclothes on when they get up after said nookie.. :/

Revolver's that could not hit a barn door from 30 feet, but can take out the arch villain from half a mile away.

during a good fight, the good guy who has taken a pounding to within an inch of his life, suddenly makes a miraculous recovery and pulls off soem fantastic move and kills the bad guy... Why didn't he just do that in the first place..

Car tyres that screech in the wet and on grass, and or wet grass.. :/

Star Trek: You always knew Who was going to die when a group from the ship were teleported to a hostile planet. :cg

After said rampant nookie, the sheets are still uncreased and tidy.

In old movies from the days when men always wore a hat, especially in Westerns, their hat always stayed on in a fight .

PS: Great topic!

A malfunctioning or burnt lightbulb usually means that someone is hiding in the room or about to enter your house..

When someone lights a match in a dark old house, that match has as much power as a 1000 watt bulb!
Alternatively, they light a match, and then light an old oil lamp which has the same power as 1000 watt bulb.

The best method to revive somebody after their heart has stopped,
( assuming that there has already been a lengthy attempt to revive them with those electric zapper things )
is screaming at them something like:
"You never backed away from everything in your life, now fight! Fight! FIIIIGHT!"
"You can't do this to me! I love you, Babe"..

You also never have to look up a phone number, for anyone.

All movie babies are born HUGE, usually the size of the average two month old.

Time will stand still when when the hero is in the presence of a company logo.

Any lock can be picked with a credit card or a paper clip.

Lights never work whenever there has been a murder. The cops ALWAYS have to switch on a torch!

When the 'old cabin' that no one has lived in or used for years :
a) it only takes the flick of the dustcovers and everything is clean and tidy
b) people arriving only have light back packs if even that but there is always candles, matches, and food to put on the table.

There is always a parking spot outside your destination (my friend and I always call the rare occurrence of this for us a "Movie Park").

Turned on the telly today and caught the last five minutes of "The Naked Jungle". Charlton Heston farewells Eleanor Parker to go off and save everyone from the swarming ants (remember them?!) by dynamiting the dam wall. He's wearing khakis, and dons a white scarf for no good reason. He splatters oil on his clothes ("That should help keep them off"), but very haphazardly and ineffectually, far from the total dunking you would really need, but gets a fair bit on his scarf. We're talking heavy duty oil here, in handfuls, right? You'd never get it all out, even with a bathtub of detergent, right? Wrong! (Bet you're not surprised).

So he staggers through the ants (cue multiple falls for added drama), gets to the water, falls in and.... you guessed it!... comes up with a pure white scarf and not a spot of oil anywhere! Loved it! Wish I'd seen the whole movie.

I often go to IMDB after seeing a movie - there is always a section called Goofs, which highlight such errors in continuity, inaccuracies etc. Makes for great fun.

Nice find... :cg

I found this, but it is true..

Dogs always know who's bad, and bark at them.

My labrador ( soft as a brush and loved everyone and everything )
only ever ONCE in his entire life took an incredible dislike to a visitor we had when we lived by the River Dee in Isycoed.
He turned up casualy and uninvited, and left very quickly. Never to be seen again. . . :cg

Car doors are never locked, but if by chance they are the window is actually open.

The old men may not have youth on their side, but they have Wisdom..

I see Christopher Walken and Robert Wagner may be in a spot of bother over Natalie Wood..
My Mother said Robert Wagner knew more than he was letting on about her death.. :|

In the films of the 90's, ALL data including 10,000 megapixel Video footage would fit onto a single floppy disk. :urm:

Also, if a computer got too much "Data", it would explode.. :o
I never had that problem, just the BSOD ( Blue Screen of Death)

and all I did was plug a USB printer into my Windows box.. :tk
