The man in the Window

Sitting in the window with silver hair
Sits a frail old man in a Rocking Chair
Loneliness is etched up on his face
He smiles at people walking at pace.
Many do not see the pain he bares
Walking straight by, they don't even care
For all of a year he sits there and stares
Will a passer by stop and show some care
But they all pass by, not giving a damn
But thinking only of themselves, their lives a sham
Has long as they are working, for as long as they can
Why should they bother, with this lonely old man
The winter is now with us, its cold and and bare
The mans curtains are drawn, gone has his stare
His chair is still it makes no sound
The man in the window cannot be found
His loneliness has ended, his spirit is free
Not one person cared, and no one could see
So if you see, a person alone and in despair
Remember this man in his old rocking chair
Just give a wave, just give a smile
Maybe a minute of talk, just stop for a while
For when you get older, and your heart will not mend
You may like the comfort from a passing friend
