Just been listening to this, first time for ages, everytime I hear it it moves me. My favorite album of all time. What's yours?

I bought this LP while I was saving up for my first record player. Haven't heard it for years!
Went to a concert with Mike Oldfield in the seventies and most of the show was - Tubular Bells.

I've not heard Tubular Bells in years. Going to have to play it now (to make sure that the tunes now going round in my head are the same as performed!).

Disraeli Gears, has to be my favourite!!

I do like Mike Oldfield, and Tubular Bells.
My Favourite Mike Oldfield track is Moonlight Shadow, a song I have enjoyed listening to for some time now.



I don't think I have a favourite Album... Horses for courses really, depending on what mood I am in... Or what mood I WANT to be in..

I love Music, without it, I woudln't be here...
(that and bacon and Black Pudding baps.. ( with HP sauce) )

YES, but I had to choose just one . That, too, was one of the first records I ever bought - and Weather Report Black Market. Last year I had front row seat to Wayne Shorter for the second time (fourth time I saw him live) and was pulled back stage where I had strawberries and Toblerone with him and John Patitucci, gd47. (I am a little tired after watching a live streaming with Chick Corea and Wynton Marsalis from 3AM last night. Suddenly Gayle Moran shows up and sings "You're everything", the good old song I had just posted here and had been singing all night.)

I once worked with (ie, played bass with) Tommy Smith, who was then working with Chick Corea and Gary Burton.

Saw Weather Report in Edinburgh, with Jaco (my idol and true God!) Mind you, John Patitucci isn't that far behind!

Also Joe with his Syndicate at the Queen's Hall in Edinburgh.

Just working through (and watching) my John Patitucci bass tutorial...oh...just been reduced to tears listening to Gary Karr.

A year ago in Copenhagen Jazzhouse, stage almost at floor level, me sitting comfortably with a large gourmet draught beer in good company, just back from Luxor - right in front of Gary Burton, beautiful concert! THAT was an old dream!

A year earlier: Christian McBride (Keith Jarrett trio). Last night: Live Saidi in the street followed by another live streaming with Chick Corea and Wynton Marsalis until early morning, even better than the night before. No sleep, but lots of good music!

A year later, just back from another great concert. I was so close to the stage that I could hardly see both artists at the same time, but when you look to one side and there is legendary Chick Corea, to the other side none less that Stanley Clarke, I can live with that. Three meters between us and both came to shake my hand and say thank you afterwards.

Yes Alistair, I used to love Cream I have most of their music now on CD.

Now I am more sedate and like to listen to soft music, the likes of Il Divo, Susan Boyle, Andrea Botacheli, but on occasions I turn back to the oldies and even a bit of Country, I love the beat of Mockingbird, I like the late 50 and 60's, and love Doo Wap...

Gawd,I'm really gonna show my age now!
My all time favourite band is the "Bee Gees!"
They influenced many and were prolific song writers.
Who can stay still when the first strains of "Stayin Alive"filter through the amplifiers at many a nite out?
In my opinion..they're awesome!
And timeless!
