Just realized that on L4U up by the User Control Panel my "Email" section is gone. Went to the User Control Panel and looked at the Private Message Icon button there and when I went to check my message I got this message: You are not authorised to send private messages.

Really? I'm now not authorized to send or receive any PMs? My email button is gone........has PM-ing been taken away?

I didn't even realise there was a an email facility to lose!

@ Hepzibah - I have NO ability to PM you. I'm sure I used to be able to PM other users on L4U and I DO have this ability on E4U but not on here.

Right beside the User Control Panel was a section where I'd be able to get PM messages. The "Messages" section is now gone so I cannot give or receive PMs AND even now when I look under your name Icon there is a drop down where I should be able to PM you - BUT mine is now gone and I can't.

In the FAQ it says the Mods can fix this. Can you fix this for me please so that I can again PM if I want to?

Perhaps the system is trying to tell you something LLL.

I've just clicked under your name and it allows me to send a pm to you. I've not done so though.

As for the FAQ's saying Mods can fix the problem - sorry that is wrong. Well it's wrong as far as this moderator is concerned. I have no control over anything like that at all. I will raise an alert for Keefy though.

LLL, when you are reading a post, can you see a small arrow next to the posters name where their avatar is? If you can, click on it and it should give you the facility to pm the poster.

I'm glad you posted this LLL, I had a similar PM from Winged Isis on Egypt4u saying she had problems with the PM system on here, I told her to post the problem on here to see if anyone else were experiencing the same thing cause everything seems to be working ok (ive checked the sytem a few times) Winged Isis did not make any posts so I presumed all was well again.

First I would empty your temp internet folder (where all cached files are kept) delete all cookies as well, if you still have the problem then try another browser, if it still the same, then try another computer. If all this fails then get back to me.

When I was in Luxor last month I had trouble with chat on here when using the IE on my tablet but it worked fine on chrome.

As from four days ago I no longer get any e-mail alerts when my posts receive a reply. This doesn't bother me but it may help you sort any problem out. I've checked and the notification box is still ticked off.

I will check the email notifications, let me know if it starts working again.

It still does not work for me. Since the new forum design I have received zero emails, not even a birthday greeting . I now use an iPhone in DK and Norway.

@RubySlippers - when I go to your Name Icon (on the left) and click on the arrow the ONLY dropdown I get under your name is PROFILE.

I used to get a drop down of 3 or 4 items one of which was the ability to send a PM to the Poster. Recently (like maybe 2 weeks ago) I did PM somebody and got a PM back so I know I had this ability very recently.

@ Keefy - PMing IS working for me on E4U, was working always on here 'til very recently. On L4U even up where it says "User Control Panel" the Icon/Box/Button (whatever you call it) isn't there anymore. I've done the file cleanup and have deleted all cookies and am now back IN L4U on another browser and still no ability to PM.

OK I will do more checking into it, We did have a permssions problem on Egypt4u where some could see photos and other could not (which I sorted in the end), so im wondering if its a similar bug, I hope Winged Isis posts to let us know if she is having the same problem now or not

Sent a PM ok to LLL and WI with no problems (no warnings to say there is a problem) let me know if you have recieved anything

I did Scottishtourist, I did not send a PM cause it would take most of my days up just in PM's to you.

So please refrain from slating the forum off in future, it is getting obnoxious, if you dont like it here... GO!!!

@Keeefy - didn't get any PMs at all. My screen shows no icons or buttons etc that would even allow me to get a PM right now. I know recently I had the ability to PM (as in a couple weeks back) but right now I have nothing related to PMing anywhere. Even when I click the small arrow by other Posters Avatars all I can see is their profile but teh PM button is totally gone (so not like it isn't working it is gone)
