The Youth Against Coup Movement, affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood, has announced plans for 15 women’s marches on Tuesday starting from mosques in Cairo and Giza to Mohandessin, Talaat Harb Square and Hegaz Square.

The marches, entitled “We Did Not Give Up,” will demand an end to what they argue is a military coup against legitimacy, and a respect for the democracy that brought ousted President Mohamed Morsy to power.

“We will demand retribution for the victims who were killed in the recent events, and stress freedom of peaceful demonstration and expression,” said Ibrahim Ahmed, the movement coordinator.

The movement called on each participant to bring along five friends to increase numbers. “But we will not stage sit-ins,” Ahmed said. “And we will raise the same slogans we chanted in Rabaa al-Adaweya.”

Meanwhile, Magdi Bassiouni, coordinator of the Muslim Rebels Movement that supports Hazem Abu Ismail, said his movement is participating in the marches to protest the arrest of Islamist leaders.

Also, Salah al-Khayat, coordinator of the Islamist Omatina Movement, said they are joining to demand the civil disobedience that the Islamist movements had called for early September.

“We will come out every Tuesday and Friday to demand the release and return of Mohamed Morsy,” he added.

These will turn out to be very very long marches by the time they have all stopped to wander around the shoe, handbag and dress shops they pass. And of course the mandatory wee wee visits.
