Egypt's first dose of cold weather this winter will last for three days due to a polar depression bringing cold air from the north, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has said.
Blustery weather will drive down temperatures to between 5 and 15 Celsius.
Rain and high winds (18 knots/hour) have been attributed to higher sea levels.
Forecasters advised fisherman to remain in port during the blizzard conditions.
People are warned to avoid standing beneath trees or metal objects during lightening storms.

Very cold here yesterday morning. Even with thinners in my paint is was like glue and the wind was blowing strings of green paint over Alfie that insists to sitting as closely as cats can sit to their master while they attempt to work. [unpaid of course]

That horrible cold snap has just about left us here in Cyprus. I will be thinking of you all.... it's absolutely freezing with the wind.
Some of the low mountain villages are still snowed in here and although we expect it at the top of the mountain, the snow rarely blocks the lower lying villages.
We've had a full day of sun today and it felt positively balmy at 13C sitting on my kitchen balcony when earlier in the week it was 8C that they said had a "real feel" of a big fat ZERO.
