A huge fire broke out tonight in Luxor on the cruise boat Nile Saray (a subsidiary of "Blue Sky"), no information is available yet to if there was any tourists on board.

Good job they don't suspend Cruise's until a full investigation is completed each time a boat catches fire....
Still, at 1600 quid a cruise, compared to 35 quid for a Hot Air balloon flight... ' nuff said really...

There was a fire a few days ago and a tourist was injured. Is this is the same one?

Well the percentage of cruise boat fires speaks volumes, either all cruise boats trips should be halted until all boats undergo full health and safety inspections or there are an awful lot of er 'accidental fires due to lack of tourists (paying guests) whereby one would assume that the insurance investigators leave no stone unturned. It's a very simple case of either fraud or stupidity.
Plus all cruise boats should also be moved away from the centre of Luxor down to the bridge where the can 'accidentally catch fire without us looking at them…

Well considering that it is the same company that was involved in the balloon crash that has been now shown to have been due to faulty equipment, one has to wonder more about the company than the industry as a whole.
No more news on the disgruntled former employee of a balloon company who a week or two ago attempted to blow up the company and would have taken half of Bairat with it?

They didn't say what company. Just he had been fired ages ago, wanted his job back, and thought a good way was to get two friends and go set the warehouse where the balloon company's stuff is stored on fire (of course we know that means propane tanks too and we know what happened last time one of those warehouses caught fire). The warehouse is in Gatr, that is all I know and they were stopped before any fire started.

The household gas depot in Gezira caught fire a few years ago (just before we moved here) and umbooba's (gas bottles) were flying through the air and landing very near the village. A couple of years ago a cane field burn got out of control and reached the outer depot walls before it was put out! That was scary to watch!
Fortunately the depot has now been closed and local distribution has replaced it.
