I live in Luxor about 15 years and in Egypt for 17. Married to an Egyptian and have two lovely kids.
Heard a lot about your forum and now that we decided to go to live in Belgium I thought it's nice to keep myself
updated and maybe I can find some information could be useful to us.

Still in Luxor until end of May. We just wait for the end of the school exams. Have one in third prep and one in third primary.

Welcome to L4u, 17 years is a long time are you looking forward to returning to Belgium? I have a Belgian couple living above me and I think if they could sell their property they would love to return.

We look forward to settle there. Of course for me it's nothing new but for the kids and my husband it's a new adventure.
, nevertheless we'll miss Egypt and our friends A LOT. Every country has its good and its bad.
I believe in Egypt and it will be back but we don't know when.
As we are depending on tourism and it's indeed not the best time to sell property, we opened our door to Belgium.
I hope to take some of the sun and humor of the egyptians with us

I have just registered to the site tonight. I have always enjoyed reading the topics and messages and now I can read more of them!

I have been totally 'obsessed' by Egypt since I first visited in 1997 (just missed the massacre at Hatshepsut's Temple by a couple of days, but that did not put me off)!

For the last few years I have been lucky enough to visit Luxor twice a year, for a month at a time. I stay at the Old Winter Palace hotel. which I consider to be my 'second home' and I have been so grateful to have made so many friends, both Egyptian and British and have had wonderful experiences.

My holidays are a great mixture of exploring, socialising and just plain relaxing in the gardens of the hotel - what more could anyone want! I no longer travel anywhere else.

I so love this forum and it gives me a real connection to my 'second home' - thank you.
