carrie wrote:Hepzi I am very grateful for your information and if I gave the impression that I thought YOU should have posted it earlier then I am sorry, I do have a facebook page a friend set it up some 5 years ago I never look at it dont know how to use it and certainly don't know how to set up "alerts" so from me a big thank you and please please keep letting me know what is happening.
Carrie, I didn't for one minute think you were having a dig at me.
I couldn't believe how little notice they gave before their last. rare, appearance in Luxor. I think I commented as much when I posted here and I certainly commented on the UK in Egypt FB post about it. Goodness knows there is precious little in Luxor to fill diaries but people do still have lives to lead and plans made and would appreciate a wee bit more notice.

Just to inform everyone about The Solar Power Conference in Luxor it might have happened, it might yet happen or more lightly it will never happen, just a note for your diaries, no more information is possible at this point in time....
Ps: The Supreme Council Of Luxors HQ which has a ray of new solar panels... that don't work!
they never insulated the cables on the roof in the sun they perished...

I don't think anyone is having a dig Hepzi. most of us appreciate information on events that happen in Luxor, no matter where it comes from.
Personally I would have liked to have gone to the Consular Meeting but has you say due to the lateness it was advertised myself and wife had already made plans for that time.

Yep..

Minister of Environment Dr. Laila Iskandar and the ministers of tourism, electricity, petroleum and international cooperation opened on Friday 13/06/2014 an international conference on the use of solar power under the rubric "Luxor is a green city."

The conference will last for three days. It aims at offering studies and research papers regarding the use of solar power in government departments and historical areas.

Luxor Governor Tariq Saad el-Din, the EU ambassador to Cairo and a host of solar experts attended the opening session.

Blast...missed it :td

Thanks for posting that MD I was under the impression that every Country had its own Rep. and not someone representing the land of Europe has a whole.

ie.

UK
Germany
France

etc etc.
