Every time I click on my mouse it pings, it never used to do it, how can I make it stop, it's really getting on my nerves.

Try googling...."mouse pinging" or some such. It's a recognised problem. Good luck.

Buy a new one, they are cheap enough from Mr. Ping Pang Pong's shop of genuine Chines imports in Television street.

Never heard of that happening before.

If its the mouse making the noise then it needs replacing, but if the sound comes out of the speakers, its possible that
the sound scheme has been altered somehow..

It may be worth looking at the Sound Options in the Control Panel.

Yes the noise is coming from the speakers when I click the mouse, thanks Bullet Magnet I will have a look don't mind buying a new mouse but if it is something else that is causing it then not much point.

Windows does have some strange Shortcuts to weird and wondrous things, such as pressing the left shift key 5 times to tun on sticky keys. May be worth doing that ?

My Laptop runs Linux, and my cat walked over the keyboard whilst I was listening to something on Youtube, and she managed to put my browser into some weird bigger than the screen mode and disable my wireless networking.
both problems took me a while to figure out..
