I've finally heard from a friend who spoke to the minister about this.
Turns out the minister was unaware.
Changes are on the cards.

El Damaty. Not sure where he fits in. Isn't he the Minister of Antiquities?

There has been more "official" output now on Luxor Times
On Saturday, Dr. Youssef Khalifa, head of ancient Egyptian antiquities department, told Luxor Times that the issues has been addressed and approval given to issue new tickets in Egyptian pounds without waiting for the existing tickets to be all sold.

If you recall when we discussed this before, that's exactly what I said must have happened. Someone gave the price of tickets in dollars and forgot to convert it. And they had to have that amount exactly in the till at the end of the day or else they would get in trouble.

In ALTA for a second day Robbo, this shopping centre you just sit anywhere, so that's why I can check for any crabby comment made by certain people about my posts.
P&O charge a fortune, but then again, it might be a good idea if all of us could give reports on our recent trips, where ever in the world, being that Luxor is becoming a bum place.
P.S. - Until they sort out this problem, and you want to have a look around Mut Temple, there is a small shop just up from the ticket office at Karnack, he will change money for you at the very reasonable rate of $5 to 40 LE.

I said it is becoming a bum place,...........not quite there yet, though I do have to say many have already seen the light, and have set up home in Hurgarda, Asswan or dare I say it, the old country.
