They are emptied daily, the lads tip it over on a big sheet sort it and then dump it in their lorry, with the canal rubbish I shall chuck petrol over it and set fire to it….If I tried paying the kids to clear the rubbish they would just create more deliberately…

Bit of a political chat about the bin placement, It's on hold but no bother is was to-be expected, So the lads carry on fixing all dem cracks and building useful things when I can remember what they were, an electrician is trying to fix a water fan and the knife grinder is in the water garden happily sharpening every knife axe and blade, I probably have a collection of over 25 including kitchen gear..
lunch ? normal chicken/roz/potatas/molykeayah!/chai! it never varies….x 3 45le……

Note how' works stops to watch someone else work….

'mind you they are probably negotiating a price for me….

So we have just had another 'on-site meeting the desenters the Dr and Hag Mamoud. (both vying for head man status)
Sabra the Omda & my mate reckons we build it right opposite them canal-side, now this idea will take some thought as to stabilising the canal bank first..

Lunch…Chicken, patatos,roz,molykia-Yah!, flat-bread and salad x 5 = 100le…now 10quid for lunch is dirt cheap in my book..

Finally having fought off numerous assaults from all-sides 'the tide is turning, work begins on the foundations..
one benefit, my workforce come from Gurna but are also Horrabat & Rabbat as is this village.

So we are ripping up a very fast growing vine, we have to quickly create shoots to plant down the side to hold in the earth ( traab ) they also suggested we plant papyrus as it grows like wild fire round my gaff..work stopped for today..talk time….

If you constructed an overlap boot foundation you will suffer no slip. I'm sure your workers will be familiar with this method as they all know everything about anything.

Id put a little slopey front on it, so when its being dragged back onto its stand it doesn't chip off the edges.

I must admit I have bit of the
'skip rat in me to this day, I always slow down at a skip to view it's hidden contents.
You wouldn't believe what I have hauled out of skips, 'a brand new set of ski's probably only used once, a head of St John the Baptist..

Here is Sabar 'Omda of our village and 'a right hard b**** he made all this possible, he now reckons we should hinge it on steel rsj's.
