It could be as simple as both Chris and Robbo70 suffer from a stutter.Billy_whiz wrote:OK, I'll fall for it - what's a PPP or an FFF guy?

Re: Marriage proposal!
Nice joke ST, gained plenty of replies. My opinion is that you are not pathetic enough to have to buy a bedmate who cannot even have a proper conversation - -

I have no idea what a PPP guy is. I was advising the 3F's which is Find em, F**k em, Forget em.

Re: Marriage proposal!
Private Patients Policy, I think!!
Then again it might be Power over them, Propose to them and Plunder their Purses....
It might even be, Pick them up, Plunder their bodies, pinch their cash......
Who knows????

Re: Marriage proposal!
I'm beginning to think the original post was serious since ST has not said another word on this thread.

There's a time for everyone, if they only learn

Re: Marriage proposal!
You have judged correctly GD!Glyphdoctor wrote:I'm beginning to think the original post was serious since ST has not said another word on this thread.
It actually was a SERIOUS post!
Everyone's answers are very appreciated! It was not a wind up.I do have a great deal of respect for anyone who profers their opinion! My aim is not to wind anyone up when they take the time to read my post and reply to it!
Yes,I sometimes consider myself very strong minded..but where's the harm in seeking advice from fellow forum members who have openly shared their experiences..and can hopefully advise me on what would be a very important,life-changing decision for me?
You gotta appreciate that I am now 52years old!Quite settled..but I can have children and grandchildren round about me and still feel rather "lonely!"
There's nothing going here in Scotland!
Would my children be appalled?I got no idea!
Would anyone in Egypt/Luxor be appalled? Please advise.

For once your words make sense to me.
Thanks.

When did people stop caring?carrie wrote:Why would anyone care?
There isn't a day when you don't hear locals and expats talk about women who have to go all the way to Luxor to get out of their loneliness and the men who marry them.
What is wrong in caring about how you are regarded as a guest in a foreign country?

Re: Marriage proposal!
ST has been coming to Egypt for many years. You would have to be delusional to not realize that she would have acquired one or more suitors in that time. That part of the original post was always very real looking.
How seriously she is considering the offer was the only part of the post that wasn't clear.
And she should do her homework on the general opinion of nurses in Egypt and see if it has anything to do with all this.

Ouch!
Unfortunately, (and as my mother was a nurse it hurt me) the general opinion of nurses in Egypt can be quite shocking.
There isn't anything personal in it ST but I was insulted and I think that you might be too.
