I know, I know this is the Luxor 4U site. But in starting to plan for my trip I have dealt with Cairo first. Now I want to skip right down/up to an Aswan to Abu Simbel cruise. I desperately want to do this and am looking for any first hand information or recommendations. I have researched reviews and there are very few, especially recent, that I have found.
This is expensive for me (single), so I want to make sure I have covered all my bases.
If anyone has any recommendations, or knows someone who has, please do tell.
Thanks so much for any help.
Try the MS Eugenie and the MS Kasr Ibrim with Belle Epoch Company - I have had great cruises on them in the past few years - especially the Kasr Ibrim - not sure if they are still working
It was amazing Bennu, to sail up to Abu Simbel was something really special we also returned at night time to watch the sound and light show which I loved

First time I visited Egypt, I went by convoy to get a glimpse of a crowded Abu Simbel before going on a three nights felucca cruise from Aswan to Kom Ombo and the convoy to Edfu and Luxor.
Four weeks into the revolution, we were a bus full of friends from Luxor spending a couple of nights in Abu Simbel for the Sun Festival. That was an experience for life. They say that the way to approach Abu Simbel is from the water, so we will be a nice little group of fourteen Oriental dancers enjoying just that - and a Nile cruise back to Luxor, where they will leave me.
Never before have I been tempted to go on a cruise, and apart from a beautiful dahabeya dance trip to Aswan with a band earlier this year and the felucca trip, this will be my first Nile cruise.
Crocodile numbers in Egypt's largest man-made lake have slumped dramatically due to illegal overfishing and poaching amid the current security vacuum, a nature reserve official has said.

I agree totally - and why I like tarek osmans writing and analysis so much as he looks at things with a more western questioning mind and is very analytical and refreshing. :)
