There having been no activity in the last c24 hours I just wondered whether the forums are down at present. I am posting this message to see if it shows up!

Re: Are the forums down?
Is it not just the case that people are no longer that interested in what's going on in Luxor?
If we want bad news..then all we have to do is pick up a newspaper in our own country.
I enjoyed my recent holiday there..but let's face it.Luxor is BORING with a capital B!
Deserted streets and markets.Derelict buildings.Caleche, felluca and taxi men constantly "whining"about how bad business is!
Who needs that on a holiday?
Thomson have cancelled the summer season..so it makes it even more expensive to get there. For what?Sunshine?
Following the "Karnak"incident..I'm afraid to say that my interest in Luxor and what's going on there has diminished!
If I want to live a boring, safe life..I'd rather not spend £1000 for the priviledge..and just stay in Scotland.

Re: Are the forums down?
Of course Brian. Each to their own.
But you gotta admit that forum has been pretty quiet, apart from Who2..and he's telling us all about London!
No trip reports,no flights,no holidays..let's face up to the facts.
Interest in Luxor is diminishing.

Re: Are the forums down?
Or perhaps those of us that live here have much more interesting things to do at the moment than keep you lot entertained by posting on the forum

Re: Are the forums down?
I left Luxor a week ago and I really miss the dry heat that is such a blessing to my aching body.
I love the summer in Egypt and enjoy being there during Ramadan, but summer is also the time of year when my home country is more pleasant. With Copenhagen Jazz Festival, an aging mother and baby granddaughter, I could not stay away any longer.
In a few hours, I shall be on my way to a lovely place at Vesterhavet = The West Sea, which our British neighbours call North Sea, for a week of dancing to live Egyptian music, of course. I have warmed up with some workshops here in the city earlier this week after a few days as a mermaid in the Winter Palace pool, preparing myself for the latest Cairo style at the West coast of Denmark.
:d2:
So, that is the usual from me. Nothing interesting to tell.

Re: Are the forums down?
Luxor boring? Next time your here just book a taxi and tell the driver that you just want him to drive in any direction for a couple of hours. You will enjoy sights that you never knew existed. Luxor is far from boring, for me at least that is. Its a hive of activity and long may it reign.
