A few years ago I became quite friendly with a guest in Gaddis hotel.
It was her first visit to Egypt..but she had been befriended by a guy in Luxor who had contacted her via "facebook."

She married him,he ripped her off..I still contact her now and again..but she's a mess!
Her mental health has suffered, her finances are drained.

However,quite by accident I found her "facebook"page!
I found it quite shocking and rather disturbing!

She's posting things extolling the virtues of Islam. They ain't nasty nor provocative...but they're there in black and white!
Images,texts from Quran,etc.

How can she so easily be swayed? She had no religion to start with!

Is love so blind?

I once had a roommate in California. Her parents were both immigrants from England. She had been raised by them as Protestant. While we were living together, she converted to Catholicism, under the influence of her boyfriend at the time, who was Catholic, and who had previously planned to become a Jesuit priest before they got involved. You can imagine what her parents thought.

The relationship with the boyfriend ended about a year or two later. But 25 years later, she is still a practicing Catholic, married to another Catholic, and very active in the church. The ex-boyfriend has a blog where he posts things he says God is telling him directly.

To each their own I say. I think you need to learn to mind your own business when it comes to others' religious beliefs.

perhaps he just introduced her to a concept of religion that she liked and fitted in with her ideals in life. It may not be anything to do with love being blind.

She's found something in Islam that has met an inner need. Good for her.

Why should her disastrous relationship put her off Islam any more than the actions of ISIS turn muslims away from their faith?
