Photos permitted in Cairo Museum

It was announced a little while back that photography would be allowed in the museum over the festive period. ...until 7th January 2016.

I now hear that , after that date, photography will be permitted on purchase of a ticket for 50LE.

Seems a sensible move, although I do wonder how, in practice, they'll monitor it i.e. check that anyone taking pictures has a ticket.

I suggest they could give you a bright pink fez to wear, to be returned on leaving the museum. Should make for interesting 'selfies'
