Along with various other similarities,Jews,Christians and Muslims have an belief in an afterlife..a heaven,a paradise.
This may seem a stupid question (much the same as most of mine are),but will my heaven be the same place that Muslims and Jews will also go to?
Do you believe that there is ONE universal heaven/paradise that unites people of all religions?
Or do you think that each religion has a separate idea of paradise? And as such, religion will always divide people even in the afterlife?

Only one group goes to Heaven - some spend their time on Earth fighting over which one.

ST, there is no heaven, its just a sop for the religious. We are born, we live and then we die, as everything does on this unimportant little planet - -

Then what is the point of one's existence ?
I've always thought one's life was to find out the reason for existence and then try to fulfil that 'contract that allows for one's existence.
The physical returning to dust the electrical according to it's own abilities.....

Why does our existence have to have "a point"?

I would imagine everyones heaven would be different anyway, depending on their preferences in life. Surely, those of you who believe you are going will have an individual heaven of your own choosing?

If I believed in heaven then there wouldn't be any jews muslims hindus or other non-pork eating people - not because I don't like them, I wouldn't want to offend them with my bacon butties.

QED.... that's why we have gravity on the planet but to connect the two could take years of a'life!....

Ps: 'It's a bit late in one's life to look for it's reason to exist, that's why old folks turn to religion fear of the un-known..

Inventing gods to explain the otherwise inexplicable is pretty rstional, when you think about it.
But it's a bit of a cop out.
Now that science can explain more or less everything around us, I doubt gods and the worship of same would gain much traction except for the fact that the deistic religions now exist and I guess, with the tendency of their adherents to indoctrinate their offspring, it will continue for eons to come.

" A word to the 'Y's
Imagine! 'standing at the centre of a bicycle wheel being the cog, everything is connected by being that cog and by understanding the laws that govern this planet, then my friend All is explicable.
To those that understand or even stand-under...

Ps: Science cannot make a rose...

Science can make a rose...or even a human being for that matter.
What it's not good at is explaining why (some) people consider a rose is 'beautiful '....what emotions are. ..and other questions which do not readily lend themselves to scientific analysis.
But gods and religion do no better
On balance I'd do away with religion and the attendant misery it's brought to humanity and accept that I can't explain why I like to look at a rose.
A bee , of course, would not be puzzled. ROSE = FOOD

I do-not believe in the big-bang theory, there is and has to be an intelligence one that we mere mortals try to fathom.
I takes intelligence for the order and beauty we see around us, but one of my favourite animations is..
The coke bottle seen here, not a great fan of animation but this is an absolute classic....
So kick off the 'sling-backs, grab a drink, lay back and enjoy but remember! to....
'pump up da volume!...

Indeed virtually everyone thought that until scientists, starting with Charles Darwin, explained how the complexity of life could, over billions of years, arise from a replicating molecule through natural selection.
The concept of 'intelligent design' is totally refutable and essentially died 150 years ago.
If there was some being ordering the world in which we live, 'intelligent ' is certainly not an adjective you could ascribe to him...or her.

Did you not manage to home in on the bonus ball number. Or was it a case of there not being enough tea leaves at the bottom of the cup?

The bonus ball is in the lap of the gods.
The remainder are as stated.
Some people just want everything on a plate
