In the Olympics’ rich history, it has never been held in an African country. Cairo, Egypt has what it takes to become the next city for this prestigious title. Cairo’s location near the Nile River will provide an excellent place for the Olympic competitions.

Egypt is one of the most history-rich countries in the world and with its new advancements; the country now has the perfect mix of modernization and history. With more than 5,000 years of culture and tradition as well as its magnificent sports enthusiasm Egypt with its capital Cairo envisages hosting major sport events in the course of a medium to long term development strategy.

According to El Balad, Eng. Farag Amer، Chairman of the Committee of Youth and Sports، the House of Representatives، said that the Committee seeks to host the version of 2032 Olympic Games in Egypt. He added that this bid will be implemented through coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Delusional… but it might just work in Egypt.

Promise a bid – get the sand monkeys to provide the 10 billion – take the money and run.

Imagine the political effects of the bid. The country united in some crazy abstract high aim /frenzy – forgetting their immediate poverty and mismanagement – phrases, they could use - get the hatted one back to help – eternal solidarity – eternal Nile – Egyptians united to defeat the world - Egyptians united to unite the world – lots of rhetoric about the font of civilization – lots about how the army and the people are one - Islam and the west are one – Africa the font of civilization etc etc. No type of mad marketing hype could be excluded and all of it making Egyptians feeling good - until the delivery stage and who no living when will be alive then.

Rio has proved one unforgettable point. No poor/developing country is ever again going to be given the job – South Africa included. The Olympics are a rich man’s club for those stupid and rich enough to believe that two weeks of froth are going to pay for the billions.

As Hafiz says.....quite delusional.

Far better to be going for the less expensive Winter Olympics

Could prove cost effective as they have thousands of political prisoners doing nothing so they would be glad of the fresh air and a bit of exercise. And constructions on this scale are death accidents waiting to happen, so a win win golden opportunity.
