Re: Returning member
Hi denisegr, welcome back. I hope all is well with you. How many years is it since you were last in Luxor? I think you are going to notice quite a difference, no matter how long. What are your expectations for returning?

it is what you do with what happens to you.

Welcome back, I remember your past posts. You should still find enjoyment, tickets are on sale for a new local past time of spotting Mr&Mrs MT. All takings going to ACE.
PS. You require photographic evidence to claim the prize, an autographed picture of a Wallaby.

Dont worry yourself denisegr, you will not be fortunate to meet us, a pity realy, there are a lot of people who claim to know us, but in reality they do not have a clue, they just make their own minds up about us, led by myself tossing sprats about.....
I think you will maybe get a few PM's about us, or when you arrive plenty of they old talk talk gossip.

Re: Returning member
Talk about a sense of self importance, why would anyone want to PM anyone else about your supposed doings. Who cares?

Hmm...trying to toss sprats - in an attempt to catch a mackerel perhaps! denisegr, leave your fishing rod behind, just go to Luxor and enjoy your time back there. I just hope you will let us all know how you got on and how you see the place has changed, if you think it has.

That depends on how long you have been away. You may have known them under many different names.denisegr wrote:... have been away too long who are Mr and Mrs MT?

Re: Returning member
No sense of self importance, just a knowledge of how things go, I have plenty of PM's that have been copied to Word and sent to me, like I am sure most of you have.
Getting back to my reply to denisegr, everyone on here will probably claim o know me, and yes they probably do, but by sight only. Don't get mixed up with seeing by sight and knowing the real me. To be honest I think the only people that really know me are my family, I am not really a social group person, I never have been.
Some one once said to me "If you drop out of the In Crowd in Luxor you have a job getting back in again". At the time I said "Really" after and thinking about the answer I should have replied, "What makes you think I want to" I have been married to my wife 30 years, she is my life, my best friend and my purpose for everything, because of this, I became a loner to groups and social groups, not saying I like it, but it suits me really.
Maybe there should be a survey - the question. WHO KNOWS MT? You will then realize very few maybe the odd one or two. The same goes for me, I know people by sight but I do not know the person. That will prove we really know nobody. I can tell you I know many people in Luxor, but can only think of around 4 that I really know, the main fraction I only know by sight.

Re: Returning member
Well I for one have no PM's that have been copied to word then sent to me. So aren't you the lucky one to have received so many.
And since as you claim you are not in Luxor, despite having been seen, and never going out or gossiping, despite admitting that you like to pass on the odd item of gossip to see if it comes back, Densigr need have no fear of meeting up with you. And I suppose has not the slightest interest in doing so. Get over yourself.

Re: Returning member
I was in a very large crowd the other day in the souq, not much problem getting in or out so I suppose its all down to how you conduct yourself with strangers and how they view you as an individual. They were all, or seemed to me too be, quite pleased to see me wandering among them taking note of them as equals and what they were selling against me telling all and sundry how wonderful a person I was and how honored they should feel to be in the same company as myself.

Re: Returning member
I remember a young Policeman, stopping a car because the car was not showing a tax disc, the Policeman asked the driver why his car was not taxed, the driver told the Policeman the tax was in the post, so the Policeman said to the driver I will just check your vehicle over, he checked the tyres, the lights, the horn, the indicators and the brake lights. The Policeman said to the driver everything seems to be in order, I just need to check your insurance and MOT Certificate, the driver handed them to the Policeman, the Policeman said Ok thank you, the driver then said is that all officer? The Policeman repaid not really I am going to report you for having no tax, and no insurance. I have just shown you them the driver said, The Policeman replied, yes you have, but you told me your Tax was in the post, if it were, the Insurance Certificate and MOT Certificate would be accompanying them, and you have just shown me them, meaning your tax is not in the post. Because you have no tax it also voids your insurance. Is there a moral to this story? It happened in 1973

Re: Returning member
Well denisegr, it seems that Major Thom or MT as he is referred to (otherwise known as Justen, ChocolateEclaire, LuxorPharoes (spellings?) and probably other personas I've forgotten) is doing a far better job of introducing himself to you than anyone else could.

A bit long winded.... just to say "Never trust a copper! "there'r really all a bunch of c*nuts, in practically every country on the planet.Major Thom wrote:I remember a young Policeman, stopping a car because the car was not showing a tax disc, the Policeman asked the driver why his car was not taxed, the driver told the Policeman the tax was in the post, so the Policeman said to the driver I will just check your vehicle over, he checked the tyres, the lights, the horn, the indicators and the brake lights. They can't help it, It's in their nature.....
Now, about Red Herrings ? I bought a pair in KZ last week after downloading a Rick Stein fish programme......

Ps: The spelling of c*nuts was [sic] deliberate for the dyslexic among us..

It certainly doesn't now....or as far back as my memory goes.Major Thom wrote:I remember a young Policeman, stopping a car because the car was not showing a tax disc, the Policeman asked the driver why his car was not taxed, the driver told the Policeman the tax was in the post, so the Policeman said to the driver I will just check your vehicle over, he checked the tyres, the lights, the horn, the indicators and the brake lights.
