I'm currently reading Pax Britannica..her trilogy on the British Empire after which it will be Conundrum, the autobiographical story of her gender reassignment.

Her numerous travel books are without parallel.

Jan is now 90 and lives in Wales with her lifetime partner Elizabeth Tuckniss, whom she first (as a man) married and by whom she had four children. After Jan's gender reassignment they divorced, for technical reasons, and now live in a Civil Partnership!

I saw a little of this recently. I had no idea who Jan Morris was but what I saw of the programme was enough to make me realise that they had led a very interesting life. Now you've given the link I may try to watch the whole programme.
