For anyone who can get it there is a new programme showing on the PBS America channel on Wednesday at 9 pm called ‘The Secrets of Highclere Castle’ (Sky & Freesat)
The trailer says it all really, the first comment is that it is famous as the setting for Downton Abbey, how times change.
This link is only a trailer

Love programs of this kind, but sadly unavailable here, even on the internet TV from what I have seen so far.

Leather wall coverings from Spain by 3rd Earl in 1631?? I think not...the title was created in late 18th century.

I have not watched it yet so cannot comment, but it does have a 1200 year history so maybe some earlier person being given a more modern title?

That would make more sense.

Thanks for that Horus, past a very pleasant hour, although at times I did wonder if MT had been responsible for the sub titling.

I managed to find a version on You Tube without the sub titles.
